...sucks.

Ahh, I need a hug. Or something. A WDW trip. Yeah, that'd work.

:sad1:

Ok, I'm good now.

BTW, Jacob's coming over for a pool party later. Wanna come? ;)

are you seriously depressed? or just sad?

have you thought about seeing a psychiatrist for medication?

Oh yeah ANTM Obsessed! On Oxygen, the Network for Women... and Shelton :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That made me laugh, too.

I'm seriously depressed, Shelby.

And a psychiatrist wouldn't do anything for it. I've been to one before, and it didn't help a bit.

you need to go to therapy with a psychologist first. after several therapy sessions, if they feel that medication is necessary, they will refer you to a psychiatrist who will write you an RX.

its kinda their job to know when someone has a serious problem, and if they're not fixing it then there are more mitigating circumstances. and just because one didn't help you doesn't mean the next one won't. they might not have even been looking for depression/its causes, you might have been there over something different.

and i'll take the professional opinion of someone with a PHd in their field over the opinion of someone in middle school to know when there is a problem. if nothing was diagnosed, it is seriously possible that nothing is wrong. :confused3

Meg, I know you've been dealing this depression for some time. You NEED to go see someone. What about your PCP? My PCP and oncologist can prescribe anti-anxiety/depression pills. PCP gave me celexa and zoloft. Onco had me on remeron and ativan.
Bottom line, you need to see someone. Just because one didn't help doesn't mean the next won't.

Would you rather try someone new or wallow in depression like now? Don't take that as an insult, my friend. I've been there, done that and I'm determined to help anyone in that rut.

it might have just been the fit with the psychiatrist. i went to one for a while and they just didn't fit with me, i felt like they were spending the whole time judging me and not really listening to what i was staying. so i stopped going to her and started going to this guy and he has been great. he's really helped me...i haven't needed meds yet so thats good but if i miss a session i deffinitally feel it.

maybe you just need to find someone who's a better fit for you. :confused3

PCP? Oh, Primary Care Provider?

I've never been on anti-depressants, but I have been in counceling. Mom went in with me for the first month or so, but then we went in for separate sessions. Granted, this was 6 years ago (after my grandma died in 2003), but still did no good (I came out of there in terrible moods). I am not the type of person who feels comfortable with telling strangers how I'm feeling, even if they can help me. I tend to have trust issues. (I can be...what shall we call it? Slightly bipolar and slightly autistic. See, most people with FA have mental retardation, and while that is not the case with me, I do have autistic qualities.)

Some days, I'm okay. Some days (such as a special occasion), I'm quite happy. Some days, though, I'm constantly crying, trying NOT to cry, or quiet/withdrawn.

I do have to be careful of the meds I take, but I can look into things.
