I have battled with depression my whole life and have my ups and downs like most people. So much has happened in my life in the last few months and the stress and frustration has made my depression worse. I live in Canada and have no medical coverage to talk to anyone about everything going on in my life and help me deal with it. Feel very alone at times and just needed to vent a little on here. Been hurt by so many in my life and have no reliable and trust worthy people in my life I can talk too so I hold it all inside. Thanks for reading

 Sorry you're feeling down.
I see you've got a nice cruise to look forward to next year though. :thumbsup2 So that's good right? :)

Yes it is good :) Just hope I can resolve all the stuff in my life stressing me out and depressing me. I need to lose weight and this stuff is not helping with that.

So sorry, it really does suck.. Why can't you go to the local hospital? You don't need medical coverage here

You can't just go to the hospital to talk to somebody you need a referral. If you can get a referral it takes a long time. I tried contacting myself through e-mail and phone and have not received and response.

It must be different in Ontario.. Sorry to hear that.. Here you can go to the emergency, yes you need a referral, but if you go to the emergency and explain you will see someone very quickly..

IS there a health line maybe?

I am sorry you are going through this alone.

I understand. Losing weight is hard enough without additional stresses in your life.

First off, I'm sorry you're going through this.

There is a book that my therapist assigned to me which I have found helpful : "The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook: Practical DBT Exercised for Learning Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation & Distress Tolerance." It's cheap ($13), and gets great reviews on Amazon from people who used it to ease their depression, bi-polar disorder, anger, etc. It's a workbook, so you'll have to do the mental exercises to get the most out of it. The exercises definitely feel silly sometimes, but it gave me great tools to combat my depression, and to this day it helps me manage my emotions (or lack thereof) whenever I feel like I'm falling into a rut.

Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Dialectical-Behavior-Therapy-Skills-Workbook/dp/1572245131

In my experience, combatting depression is like dieting. Small steps are the key to success, and sometimes, you can't be as successful alone. If a therapist is out of the question, there are a lot of online resources that can be helpful.

Best of luck!
