Gotta love Ohio. 36 hours from take off and I slip on ice and fall down some concrete steps! Carrying my 14 month old grand daughter no less! Fortunately she was in a car seat and just bounced kinda hard but never made a peep. Me, on the other had, bounced on my ribs. Hoping nothing is broke. Gonna have to get some pain meds I think.

May have to spend 6 days soakin up sun instead of doing Space Mountain and Tower of Terror but I've waited 20 years to go during the Christmas season so I will see how bad I feel in the morning. Got my aunts prayer chain goin so I'm sure I'll be fine! I hope....

Blessings on you for minimal pain and quick healing! Sounds like you need a Dole Whip and a Mickey bar for optimal care!

Goodness! I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you will heal much sooner than it feels like right now :goodvibes. Glad the little one is okay.

I slipped on some unnoticed ice today but luckily didn't go all the way down. Ice is the worst.

Best wishes on your trip. Hope nothing is broken.

If it's too hard to ride TOT and other faster rides, you can find a ton of things to see and experience without the attractions during the Christmas season. It's one of the things we love about going in December.

We love to spend time watching the parades, street performers, storytellers, musicians. We wander about looking at the decorations, go to the different resorts to see their decorations and gingerbread concoctions. Hopefully you'll get some pain meds that won't make you sleepy and will allow you to still go. You may just have to keep to a more leisurely schedule without too many thrill-type attractions. Take your time, stop and sit frequently, have a snack, people-watch.

That actually describes our December trips reasonably well including the one coming up in a week. We always have a great time and only go on few fast rides. We like them but there's so many other things to do and see there. They will always be there but the holiday-related stuff is only there for a few weeks a year.

Don't push yourself and you'll still have the ability to really enjoy yourself.

So true to the above. I'm an over 60 empty nester and we are not really big on the thrill rides anyway. My biggest fear is that my fall may affect my ability to cast a line on my fishing excursion! Other than that, we'll do some touring to see the Christmas decorations at the various resorts.

WDW is awesome with pain killers! Get some, be careful. and enjoy:earsboy:

Last year on the day before we left we were dropping our dog off with friends to watch. As we were heading home, we decided to get something to eat. We just stopped at a fast food place to get something quick.

as we started eating my wife said she lost her appetite. I asked her if she would get us a refill on the drink and 15 seconds later I heard a thud. It was her passing out and falling backwards hitting her head on the tile floor.

Well to make a long story a little shorter, ambulance ride to ER, X-rays, 7 stitches, me spending three hours finding a 24 Pharmacy that takes our insurance its 2AM with a flight leaving at 9AM. I was ready to reschedule everything but she decided to give it a shot.

Well needless to say no thrill rides last trip, but we still enjoyed the trip and saw a lot of shows.

Just do what you can and have fun.

I'm so sorry! But don't rule out the trip. The worst of the pain should be over in 48 hours if no ribs were broken.

Just my 2 cents, I think you should get checked out by your Dr. to make sure no broken ribs or head injury. Twice I've had concussions and not known it.

This past January I was 10 days out from a very special trip w/ my BFF and I ruptured my Achilles. Surgery, cast, boot, etc. followed. So YES I know how disappointing it is to cancel, but WDW will be there next year!

But if no major injury, enjoy your pain meds and soaking in a tub at WDW is just as much fun as home. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Take it easy, stroll the streets and enjoy WDW at Christmas!

P.S. I'll be there Friday, Lord willing.....

Well, as the OP, here's an update. I"ve cracked some ribs in the past and this is nowhere close to that pain. No problem taking deep breaths or coughing so lets chalk it up to bearable pain that I bet will get better as soon as I get out of this snow and see sunshine and a Castle! We upgraded to business class (a first so that should be fun) for the flight down so the bigger softer seats will help plus I get some anxiety problems flying because I hate being packed in. Long story short, we are packed and ready to go! Pretty sore but hey, it's Disney! :cool1:

Just got a text from my nephew who arrived today and he says the weather is perfect!
Can't wait!

AH! I'm here now and I knew I forgot something today!

I forgot to get a friggin dole whip!

Sorry to hear you're feeling the pain, OP. Consider coming anyway and spending it in a wheelchair. It sucks, I'm not going to lie to you, but a sucky day at Disney beats a good day at home.
