What restaurants require a deposit or a credit card at time of reservation. Also which ones will charge the credit card a fee if you cancel or don't show up?

I know that CRT requires a Credit Card when you make an ADR...and if you don't show, they do charge the CC. I know there are others, but don't know which ones.

CRT; HDDR (I think); Spirit of Aloha; Fantasmic! dinner package

Nothing should be charged to your card unless you don't show or cancel within 24? 48? hours. The CM will let you know when you book what the cancellation time is. If a credit card is required when you make the reservation, you will be charged if you don't cancel/show up.

I thought CRT is now PREPAID in full at time of booking?

Fantasmic is a CC hold and if you don't show up they charge a fee (48 hour cancellation).

This could be. It's been a few years since I booked CRT plus we usually have the dining plan.

CG and Dining with a Imagineer both require a credit card to hold but dont charge..

Yeah, HDDR is also prepaid. I booked it a couple of weeks ago and it was already taken out of my checking account (paid w/ a debit card). We went last year as well and that didn't happen.

Last week I made all these reservations, I asked if I needed to pre-pay anything and was told that NO i would only be charged if I did not cancel at least 2 days prior to date of the reservation. I was also told that in order to not have to pre- pay I had to phone them and not do the reservations on line. I am also staying in a Disney resort and have the dinning plan that may be a factor too.

'Ohana Character Breakfast
Mama Melrose's Ristorante (Fantasmic)
Tusker House
Les Chefs de France
San Angel Inn
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Crystal Palace
Cinderella's Royal Table

CRT must be prepaid at time of booking. I know this because I booked and my card was definitely charged $148.00. I hope it's worth the money!

The credit card hold is only for your Fantasmic, Akershus and CRT meals...not all of them. If you are on the dining plan and call (the online system seems to be glitchy) then you do not have to pay in full for meals like CRT and HDDR when you book.

Paid in full at booking:

Cinderella's Royal Table
Hoop de Doo Revue
Spirit of Aloha Luau
Mickey's Backyard Barbeque
Some special events, like the Food & Wine Festival dinners and events, require payment in full at booking. (note: the F&W Festival events are not cancellable)

If you are on the dining plan at the time you book, you can register with the dining plan and avoid prepayment for CRT or the dinner shows. You would then give a credit card number to hold the reservation. If you don't cancel and don't show up there is a no-show fee. Please be careful booking online. It has been charging in full even those who input a resort reservation with a dining plan. You may have to make the reservation by phone to avoid the prepayment.

Credit card guarantee and no-show fee for all reservations, dining plan or no dining plan:
California Grill
Akershus
Victoria & Albert's
Fantasmic Dining Package (all restaurants that offer it)
Candlelight Processional Dining Package (when offered; all restaurants that offer it)
Special dining events such as Dining with an Imagineer

You should not have to give a credit card number at all when booking other restaurants.

I made the CRT reservation for 10 guests and did not get charged a penny. Why would there be such a different policy from one guest to the other?

There isn't. You are on a dining plan. You're not charged at booking for CRT if you book as a dining plan user. You will get charged if you don't show up, though.

I'm on the dining plan but it's QS so any TS meals I want, I have to pay for OOP.
