I had a room only reservation at YC using the 40% off code. I cancelled that reservation and booked free dining with my Disney Visa on April 9th. The CM told me that my initial deposit would be refunded to the credit card used to make that reservation but to date I have not received the credit. In the past when I've cancelled reservations the credit was issued within a couple of days. Anyone else still waiting for their card to be credited?

Anytime a large business issues a credit to your card they say it may be up to 2 billing cycles for you to see the credit.

I understand Disney systems have been very busy with the announcement of free dining and that many people are changing reservations because of it.

I would give it another week or so before calling and checking on it.

One thing you should do if you haven't already is make sure the original reservation was actually cancelled. I had to make the same changes as you and was wondering why the credit had not shown up...called CRO and they still showed it as an active reservation.

In Feb when I changed my ressie to include a AP rate I was told that I would first recieve a check for my difference that was billed to my card, I called back a few months later after no check had been sent and a different cast member told me that they don't send checks for vredit card purchases and my ressie would have a $168 credit on it and could be used when I visit. They never used it to credit any of my room charges and about 6 weeks after my trip I recieved a check for the $168. So you'll eventually get the money somehow.

I changed a room only reservation to a package on April 20th. I had originally booked with a post card mailer...WL for May. Wanted to do the same as you(OP) make it a package. They said the same thing..that the room only deposit would be refunded to the card it was originally charged on, and a new deposit and payment was needed for the package. (I put that on my Disney Visa..so as not to confuse the charges..and for the points of course!)They told me it is usually done within a few days...since this was a Saturday..it wouldn't be credited until Monday..and then it may take a billing cycle to show up. I actually checked just before signing on to Disboards...and to my surprise the credit is already indicated on my card. So go figure...I guess they tell you it can take a couple of billing cycles ..but mine showed up in less than 5 days.;)

Is anyone else still waiting for their credit. I changed my reservation a month ago and still have not received my credit. My did make my reservations through a TA. Who should I contact about this at this time?

If I am rebooking..I always just "rollover" my money from one ressie to another. That way I know where it is and do not have to worry about a deposit!

When going from a room only to a package..you aren't able to roll it over. It is actually refunded to the original card it was put on(the deposit)...and the package is rebooked. It's like cacelling and rebooking..and the requirements as far as payment for the package differ from the room only reservation.

In any case, I received the credit to my card within a few days.

Credit returns take 2 to 4 business days to post to a credit card. I would call back to ensure that they have canceled the reservation and a credit has been issued. If they say it has, then dispute the item with your credit card company. If at all possible, see if they can give you the credit return information such as batch track or authorization number so that you can provide that information to your credit card company for faster processing of the claim.

Keep us posted as to what has happened.

My credit on the original deposit came in less than a week (don't know exact timing.) If it's been > a month I would call Disney.

I tried calling Disney regarding this. They said I would have to speak to my travel agent regarding this. I have tried calling her and her mailbox is full. I have emailed her everyday for the past few days and nothing yet. What should I do at this point?

Huh? I've had numerous credits with large companies and never ever ever have they said it may take up to 2 billing cycles (months) to issue the credit. That may be the case with Disney, but it's far from the norm.

Does she work solo or through an agency? If through an Agency, contact them, is she/he is solo, fire your TA when you get a hold of her/him.
If you can't send them a letter (signed delivery required).

I did the same thing, room only to package, and had the refund back on my credit card in about a week. I thought that it was a long time but the CM I called to check on the refund told me that when they are really busy (this was during the easter holiday time) it may take a few extra days.

If they are local to you..I'd go to the travel agent in person..and ask to speak to the owner/supervisor. The fact that the agent has not returned any of your calls ..the management should be made aware of that. Perhaps they can have someone else handle your the arrangements for your trip.
