deposit for All Stars??

Im considering staying on-site for the first time. Im wondreing if you have to pay a deposit to hold your room, and if so, is it refundable if you cancel with notice? Im thinking of staying at one of the All Star resorts.

When you make a room only reservation with CRO, you pay for one night including tax. You can get a full refund up to five days before check in.

I just made 2 new reservations today. One with CRO and one with the Travel Company (I'm a DC member) and the CM told me I had to cancel 5 days prior for both without losing my deposit.
