when I was watching that show, I kept comparing myself and friends to different characters. I'm sure we all have at least one story that would make a good episode. Here's mine:

when dd1 was in elementary school and dd2 was just a baby, my husband was extremely concerned with finances. He was especially concerned with the amount of money I spent on groceries each week (which was ironic since he was also the person complaining there was never any food in the house). He was under the impression that $50. a week for the four of us was reasonable. (this included any household items I purchased at the grocery store - toilet paper, cat food, diapers, detergeant, etc.). At first I thought about him doing the shopping, but after picturing him returning only with meat and nothing else I decided against it. Finally I couldn't stand it anymore. I went to the grocery store, bought 3 lbs. bologna, 3 lbs. cheese, a jar of mayo, and 2 loaves of bread. When I came home I told him I spent less than $50. this week. :teeth: He was very happy until he asked what was for dinner? lunch? breakfast? That was the end of the $50.00 grocery bill fight.:hyper:

wow I guess I'm the only one? LOL - I'm so desperate that I can't even spell 'deperate' correct in the title post.

DH used to get really upset about all my trips to Target. He would tell me I was speding too much money, single-handedly keeping the Target in our town in business, blah, blah, blah. Now, I buy household stuff and toiletries at Target, plus, I buy quite a bit of my kids' clothes. And yes, occasionally I buy something we really don't need or buy the kids a little treat, but not very often. I would explain to him that I was actually saving money because toilet paper, diapers, laundry detergent, etc. were cheaper at Target than the grocery store and buying clothes and shoes there for the kids was cheaper than going to the mall. He wouldn't listen, thought I was just "wasting" money. So I told him I would stop shopping there. First, we ran out of TP (I secretly stashed a roll for me and the kids to use during the day! LOL!), soap and napkins. DH asked why we didn't have any, I told him I wasn't shopping at Target anymore and I wasn't due to go to the grocery store for 3 more days (I only go once a week). Then that weekend, I went to the mall because the kids needed new summer clothes. I also ordered a bunch of stuff on-line. Spent a bundle. I left the receipts by his sink in the bathroom. When we were getting ready for bed that night, he started looking at the receipts and choked on his toothpaste!! That was the end of the Target debate! Sometimes, they just don't get it! :D
