Departure Day Transportation Question

Yet another transportation question.

So we get off the boat at around 7:00am, but our flight doesn't leave until 7:00pm. We are trying to figure out what to do that day, and how to get there. We are spending 2 days before the cruise staying at the Pop Century resort and I think opting for hiring a towncar to get to Port Canaveral. If we decide to go back to the parks, can we take a towncar back to the resort and leave our luggage with them for the day?

If we don't do back to the parks (I don't know if I want to spend an extra $200 for a few hours) what else is there to do in the area? I've read about a rental car office at the port if we went somewhere else (I like the idea of going to the space center but don't know if my wife and 2 young children would).

Any advice is appreciated.

You have several options:

Take the DCL bus to the airport and get a day room at the Hyatt and use their pool.

Rent a car and spend the day somewhere you enjoy. You can go to KSC, DD, explore Orlando, stay at PC on the beach.

If you take a towncar back to WDW, you are stuck with your luggage and need to find a way to get back to the airport.

I would suggest renting your own car and driving where ever. Therefore you can leave your bags in the trunk. There are a few companies that don't have a drop off charge so it can be very reasonable. You don't say how old your kids are. Close to the port is the Brevard Zoo. Never been there but I have heard it is nice. There are lots of part day activities in Orlando: Gatorland, Orlando Science Center, Wonderworks on I-Drive. Many people just drive out to go to Downtown Disney & hang out. If your kids are really small, people rent a day room at the Hyatt at the airport. There you have access to the pool and a place for a nap. Lots of restaurants there also & just outside of the airport.
For more to do, do a search on these boards & you will find lots.

They are 6 and 4. I have thought about the Hyatt, it might be nice to just relax. We are coming from CA and who knows when we will make it back, so it might be nice to see things as well.

Happy Limo does store luggage for the day but there is a charge(can't remember how much)...we orginally had it booked that way so we could do some shopping at the outlets...but afterwards we just decided to rent a car.

Have fun!

We rent a car, and depending on the trip, either go to Downtown Disney or one of the water parks. It is a great way to end the trip!
I am a big fan of the Space Center, but think your kids are a little young to really enjoy it.

I love the idea of the water park. I think that may be the answer. Thanks.

No need to get off the ship at 7am!

We did the Hyatt day room once and it was nice! They have a nice pool and the room was really nice also! When we were ready to go check in for our flights, the bell man came to our room, got our bags and walked us to the check in! Very nice!:thumbsup2
