Departing ME and pre-paying luggage fees Airtran?

Our flight leaves at around 5 pm for our departure. We are using ME and would like to do resort check in and have bags checked to home. How do we go about pre-paying for the baggage fees?

Also we are staying at POR, what is the latest we can check out and when do we have to have everything ready for check in, bags too.

We have a Chef Mickey's ADR for 8:40 that am. Just trying to figure out if I'm going to need to have all of that done before that. I would like to utilize our room as long as possible since my DS is 16 months, and may need to catch a nap before we leave. Thanks!

If your carrier charges for checked luggage or excess luggage, you can still utilize the RAC desk. Simply call BAGS (the company that operates the RAC desk) prior to checking in at the desk. You may pay your fee over the phone using your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express card. (You can find the number for BAGS listed on your DME paperwork, or by dialing 0 from your resort telephone)

I think your check out time will be 11 am and RAC closes at 1 pm.

That has since changed - I was able to pay my baggage fee right at the RAC desk. And it even picked up that I booked my flight before the rates went up and charged me the old rate.

Check-out at POR is 11:00 am; so you will have to get to your ADR and then come back to the resort before 11:00 am. You can request a late day check-out, depending on how busy the resort is, but you will be charged a partial day depending on how late you leave.

And your pick-up time is 2:00 pm for the ME bus. You should be standing outside at the stop at 1:45 pm, so really, you are not buying yourself that much extra time.

If it were me, I would go ahead and check-out (the RAC desk opens at 5:00 am), go to my ADR and then if your child needs to get some rest, he can lay in the stroller and you can hang out at the lounge or outside on the rocking chairs behind the concierge desk.

I wasn't feeling well the last day I was there and had already checked out around 7:30 am - my flight wasn't until 6:30 pm. I had a wonderful afternoon sitting on the rocking chair watching the water taxi come and go and enjoying the last of the warm weather before I had to leave.

We just did this last month. The day before you check out, you will get an envelope on your door with your ME pick up time. Included with that, there will be paper with a phone number on it for BAGGS, you call them and pay your luggage fees. They will give you a confirmation number that you take to the RAC check in desk in the morning.

The night before we leave we do the majority of our packing. When we wake up on departure day we get up early, get ready, finish packing and head to the RAC desk. This year we were out there around 7:30'ish and there wasn't a line at all (a big worry for us, sometime the line can be LONG). We left our carry on bags with luggage services and off we went to DHS. We were able to make it to DHS for park opening at 9 (we were actually there by 8:30).
