Departing from Rome next summer - (please excuse if this already exists)

Hi all - im a newby to posting (been looking at this for years but never posted) Been on 11 Disney cruises but just booked the 12 night Greek Islands for next summer. I cant find any information departing from Rome. We plan to stay a few days in advance of the cruise and get a hire Van to the port. What can we expect in the way of luggage drop off/check in etc. We are Platinum if that makes any difference. Many thanks for all of the great information in years past! Family of 5 with 3 big teenage boys

When my family (also Platinum) sailed out of Civitavecchia in June, we stayed the previous night near the port, so we walked over to the port area entrance around 10:30 am and took a shuttle bus to the terminal by the Magic. I am not sure whether private transports can get to the terminal, or will drop you off at the port entrance.

Once we arrived by the ship, check-in was much the same as in other ports -- we gave most of our luggage to bellcaps, and waited in a short line to scan our carry-on luggage and enter the terminal. Boarding started shortly after noon and proceeded quickly.
