If you're heading to Red Rocks, stop by Dinosaur Ridge http://www.dinoridge.org/. It is super cheap, really cool and a great chance to stretch your legs. We head down at least twice a year (it's a bit of a drive for us) and the kids love it!

But, how is it compared to Gates, lol! "Hi! May I help you????" I always favored Gates over Bryants...especially the one on 40 Highway! Now, if someone wants to know about fun stops in Kansas City, THAT I could cover!

I do not like Gates! (and my last name is Gates!!! )


And to bring this back to Denver....why can't we have decent BBQ out here????? Best I've found is Smokin' Yard in Idaho Springs and Smokin' Daves in Estes Park.

I have to agree! I haven't found a BBQ spot worth the stop. I'd even go for a Fiorello's here, if nothing else! I don't like Bryant's personally...too gritty. I have friends bring me some Gates sauce when I can. If we get to make a trip back to KCMO this summer, I plan to hit HyVee and get a mixed case so I won't have to ration my good BBQ sauce!

p.s. If I do make the trip, I'll message you and see if you need me to bring a case of Bryant's sauce and rub for you!!!

Last time we did Dinosaur Ridge, we also did Triceratops Trail just outside of Golden, about 6 miles away. Really enjoyed doing both.

Thanks! I've heard that the Rib House in Longmont is run by a couple from KC and that the ribs are fantastic. I can't wait to check it out some of these days.
