We're packing for our 10/11 cruise, and my wife noticed that her crown is "a little loose". She's checking with her dentist today, but wants to know if there is any emergency help available on the ship or at port.
They have a pretty advanced medical center but I don't think there is a dentist on board. If it were me I would get an emergency appointment with her regular dentist like today do get it re-affixed!
Just in case bring along some of the fix it yourself stuff you can find in the dental aisle of the drug store...I lost a crown on vacation, used this and it held until I got home...I actually never leave home without packing some now just in case.
I broke my tooth on the "Creme Brulee" (of all things) while on the cruise....needless to say...no dentist....thank goodness it was not too painful....and I still love, love love the "Creme Brulee"(....not as much as Cpt. Jack Sparrow!)
On the Grand Cayman morning of our 7-night cruise, I bit into a piece of bacon and completely shattered one of my teeth. All that was left was the filling. I went to the ship's infirmary. $90 to see the doctor and $11 for the prescription of antibiotics. No way was I going to miss our Captain Marvin's tour, so I took the medication and ran. Later that evening, I thought about my options. I could see a dentist in Cozumel or wait until we returned to Port Canaveral and see a dentist Stateside. Since there was no pain, I opted for the U.S.. Care is always available, but I'd recommend pre-cruise prevention if at all possible...
