Dental dilemma (long)

I had a root canal that was totally screwed up and I've been to some really bad dentists. I read somewhere that dentists are the worst doctors to find because their philosophy and treatments can vary so widely and you have no way to check out what they tell you. I would get another opinion. I usually ask my pediatric dentist for advice about my teeth, I love him and trust him. He plays softball with my DH.

I've worked as an office manager and dental assistant in the past (before I had the kiddos). Dentist are definately a funny breed and hard to work for (don't flame me!).

Dentist vary on their standards. Some take an aggresive approach and some will wait to see what happens with your teeth at your upcoming 6 month visit. Maybe your old dentist has been watching these "cavities" for years and nothing has come of it.

It sounds like your dentist is pretty state of the art if he has all these toys (the camera and lazer). The only thing I'm confused about is why he's putting silver fillings in when the white (composite) fillings are better?

Anyway, I agree.. find another opinion.
