Denny's, IHOP, Cove or McD's?

I just looked at the street view on Google Maps (thank goodness for this because honestly I had NO idea where my hotel was and how far from the gate it was...) and found these four eateries quite near where we're staying.

Our Denny's here is horrible - is the one on Harbour decent?

I haven't been to an IHOP in ages and I'm trying to stay away from carbs, so is there anything else there other than pancakes?

What's Cove all about? Is it a bar? Is it a food place? Is it pricey? Sure looks cute.

And McD's just up the street there... we all know there are some that are better than others. Is this one that consistently screws up your order, or is it clean and reasonable?

Is there any other place I've missed? I'm at the Del Sol, and didn't really look more south of the hotel for food.

I like the Denny's. The IHOP is well known to be the most expensive IHOP you'll ever go to lol. I don't know about the other two.

The Cove Bar is in California Adventure and does not serve breakfast!

We've eaten at the Denny's and IHOP. Denny's is ok, service is slow and IHOP is way more expensive than your average IHOP.

We always do Starbucks now, it's fast and there is a variety of pastries and breakfast sandwiches for us to choose from!

The McDonald’s is fine. It’s a very busy one and does good business, so it’s been remodeled/updated over the years. They know it’s going to be busy and staff it well. I am not sure if they charge more than other McDonald’s since we aren’t big McD people, but some of the restaurants charge more because of location and I think they might, but it would still be cheaper and faster than Denny’s or IHOP. I know McDonald’s in malls are always more expensive than a regular McDonald’s

There is also a Panera. When we stayed at Tropicana, we would grab bagels or a pastry from the Cove. They also have fruit, a coffee bar, and yogurt options. We have also eaten at McD's and Panera. We don't like to waste time at a place like Denny's, we would rather get into the parks!

Just as I scrolled down I remembered the new Panera.

I should mention that we go to Denny's for dinner, not breakfast. I mean...DS and I eat breakfast food there, but at 10pm. :)

I recommend against the IHOP. We went in July only because it was steps away from our hotel. We'd just survived several hours of traffic from San Diego. It was 9:00 pm Pacific time which was about midnight "our" time, and we weren't thinking straight about looking for somewhere else. The food was mediocre and our bill was almost $70 for 3 of us!

i think theres also a Tony Romas by Ramada Inn(or somewhere near there)... i probably go there instead of eating dinner at Dennys lol

We've always had a good time at the Denny's for breakfast, and the occasional dinner. The food is always fresh (it would have to be, the place is constantly busy), and the portions are generous. Perfect to get everyone loaded up for a day at the parks. The service has always been great, and they will put my coffee in a to-go cup so I can take it along. I have to say, Denny's coffee isn't bad at all. I used to own a specialty coffee shop, and I find theirs to be better than most restaurant coffee.

The IHOP. Meh. Same as the others. The portions aren't terribly great (you get a lot of pancakes, but if you order something else, it's pretty skimpy.) Service is meh, and the prices are completely insane. While Denny's is often busy, I've never once waited more than 5 minutes.

McDonald's is totally fine. Expect it to be busy.

We've been to McDonald's, Denny's, and IHOP and all of them are great!

-I will say that the prices are higher at IHOP and Denny's than than usual, because of their location. IHOP more so than Denny's. I believe IHOP has salads and chicken as options. Same with Denny's.

-We've never had any problems with McDonald's. It can get really busy during peak times, though.

-The Cove is in the Tropicana hotel, which is a little convenience store. They sell lunch type items, but that's about it.

I would steer you away from Captain Kidd's (right across from Disneyland). We went there a few years ago and it was not good...at all. We gave them another chance a couple years later and it was still not good. Not sure if they've changed recently, but we won't try it again.

YMMV but we had a HORRIBLE meal at that Tony Roma's a couple years ago. Plus their SUPER cheap and crappy wine glasses make for a terrible experience if you like and order a really good bottle of wine to try and drown out the bad food.

It also has a coffee shop with morning pastries and things but its not a real restaurant, just a place to grab a a mocha and few things to eat on the walk over.

We did mcd's a couple times in July. They are busy, but very fast. Never messed up our order. We grabbed ours to-go then stood in line to eat and waited for rope drop...worked great!

We eat in the parks most days but on our days off we tend to go to the Pizza Press!!! My daughter calls it the best pizza in the world!!! McD's isn't bad and every hotel has 10% off coupons which always helps.
