Do any of you have any suggestions on simple foods that could be used as a demonstration speech? DS is searching through cookbooks. :)

No cooking, no microwave, and he only has 3-5 minutes.

TIA for any ideas!!
:bounce:

I remember from our 9th grade demonstration speech projects someone made butter from whipping cream. Really easy - pour in jar & shake like mad!

In HS I made Hamburger cookies. ..

Vanilla Wafer (Bun)
Red/Yellow Icing (Ketchup/Mustard)
Green-Dyed Coconut (Lettuce)
Peppermint Patty (Burger)
Vanilla Wafer

Along those lines, you could make homemade mayonaisse.

Instant pudding...cold milk & pudding & shake.

Appetizers, deviled eggs, fancy roll ups, veggie tray with a homemade dip.

Ice cream sundaes, banana splits.

Salad or a layered salad.

Sounds like fun!

What about demonstrating pizza tossing? Or even just how to put a pizza together.

This is bizarre!!!! I swear I was going to suggest these, and I dont know why they popped in my head when I read the original post. What are the chances? :teeth:

But I do them a little different...I keep the frosting white, for mayonnaise, and use chocolate mint cookies(I think they are called Grasshopper, theyre like the Girl Scout Thin Mints) for the burger.

I did PBJ's for mine and gave everybody a ziplock baggy of pb, a ziplock of jelly (measured out into bags at home) and two slices of bread with a plastic knife...cheap and easy, and everybody seemed to like it!

You could also do the layered Mexican dip: beans on the bottom, sour cream, salsa, and cheese on top. People also use guacamole, black olives, green onions, etc, but the basic form is just the four items. Serve with tortilla chips!!

Taco salad!!! That was one of the favorites during our HS presentation class.

Bottom layer mix sr cream and cream cheese with taco seasoning
next layer lettuce
next layer cheese
nest layer cut up tomato!

super easy!

I did a demonstration in speech class on how to make roses out of almond/vanilla homemade frosting. I showed them how to make the roses and had some cupcakes on hand to show how to place them on cakes and cupcakes. I believe my speech was to be a 3-5 minute speech also.

PRINCESS VIJA, that's how I make it too!!!! Super good! Just mix up the cream cheese, seasoning, sour cream ahead of time if he can't use a mixer.
Also we use a diposable pizza pan to make it on. It makes 2 of them.

In college, I did a demo on -

"How to Iron a Grilled Cheese Sandwhich"

You do everything you would normally do to prepare, then wrap it up in foil and "iron" it with a hot clothes iron.

Great for dorm rooms that can have hot plates!::yes::

And, yes, I got an A!
