Democratic debate

FTR, the Clinton Administration bombed Osama bin Laden's training facilities in August of '98, not Saddam Hussein. Don't worry, after hearing the current Administration try to tie Saddam to Bin Laden ad nauseum over the past few years, anyone could make that mistake...

Saddam bankrolled the facilities.

I watched the same debate and while many thought HC was poised and confident, my wife and I saw her as arrogant and smug. We each get a vote and I honestly hope that people vote for the best candidate that will improve individual lives. That said, we will vote against HC if she gets the nomination.

Yes, I get that you do not like the Clintons, but who are you voting for?

You do know there is a difference between a smokescreen and a valid military target?
Yes. Your post is a smokescreen. I asked you a question that you didn't answer. I would hope that every President we elect is peace loving, but will use the powers of our military when they feel necessary. Do you feel the same?

Round and round we go, and where we stop, nobody knows...

Maybe it's time to get back on topic?

Wvjules, what are you waiting to hear before you make your final decision?

Fe-fi-fo-fum - I smell the blood of a (right winger pretending not to be).

I was supporting John Edwards so obviously with his decision to withdraw I had to start looking harder at Clinton and Obama. I had not watched any of the previous debates but I made a point to watch the one last night in hopes that it would help me determine who I should vote for. I think in the end Clinton impressed me more than Obama but I liked both of them for different reasons.

I was suprised but Clinton seemed more "presidential" in her delivery than Obama. I liked Clinton's health care proposal more and in general on policy issues I liked her more than Obama. However, I did like Obama more for his personality. I can see where he has the type of personality that could inspire which I believe is an important quality in a President especially when we as a country are so split and everything seems so negative.

I basically need to decide if I am going to vote on policy (Clinton) or personality (Obama). I think if Clinton is elected she will have a very difficult time getting anything done in DC because she has been such a polarizing figure. I think Republicans will be talking impeachment before she is even sworn in and it will be a nasty 4 years with none of her policy issues seeing much movement because they will be blocked up in Congress. If Obama is elected I think we might have a better chance at seeing some of the issues I care about like health care actually tackled without quite as much hatred as there would be with Clinton. It is not an easy call for me.

Because the 2 are so close on policy, this is my deciding factor for Obama. IMO, with Clinton as president, it will just be another 4 years of bickering. Like you said, the Reps will just be out to get her with a vengence. Just the feeling I get.

Unfortunately, I think the Reps will be out to get either Democrat, regardless of which one makes it to the White House. Hopefully, we can pick up some more members of Congress the next go around as well, you know, to stifle some of the noise....

No I agree they will be out for any Democrat I just feel it will be worse and much more personal against Hillary than Obama.

I heard yesterday that 28 Republicans are NOT running for re-election. Sounds like a way to pick up a few seats...

Impeachment has to be for a "crime or misdemeanor" not because the Republicans hate all things Clinton. I also have a feeling that Congress will be Democratic for the next several years.

I like Obama's idea of bringing all of the players to the table in the healthcare issue. My concern with Clinton's plan is that there are no specific details on how it would be paid for. It is great to promise things to get elected, another thing to get them done.

Obama would have a much easier time trying to work with all of the parties, as opposed to the immediate resistance that Clinton would face.

She explained that last night during the Debate. I was a practicing Nurse for 22 years and can tell you that Obamas plan is good but still from my experience not much difference that what we have at this point. To many whole. But if he is elected I hope I am wrong because I am tired of paying $9oo a month out of pocket in addition to all the attached deductibles....and that is for an HMO mind you. WE are lucky to be able to afford it but it hurts. With high cost of health care no wonder so many stay away from it....
