Deluxe vs. Signature Plus AP?

Right now I currently have the SoCal Select AP and I'm not renewing until the end of the year which is months from now. I initially bought the SoCal Select AP as a one year thing to get DL out of my system and never ever visit ever again, but here I am thinking of renewing. When I renew I also plan on upgrading and I'm kind of between the Deluxe (+MP add on) and Signature Plus.

I'd like to decide now even though I have months to decide cause I would like to plan for how much money to set aside to later put down as a down payment. I know that Signature+ is better with more perks and stuff, but I want a nudge towards one pass vs the other.

Will you ever want to go on a Saturday in the summer or a holiday weekend, over Christmas, etc? If you can afford Signature Plus, then why not? You can go absolutely any day the mood strikes you, parking is included, bigger discount... if it's in the budget, do it.

We've fluctuated between Deluxe and Premium/Signature over the years, and currently my daughter and I are at Signature with Maxpass and my husband is at Deluxe (no Maxpass, but we intend to purchase it for him on some days). We evaluate each year what makes sense for us based on our current lifestyle.

It's not a small price difference between the Deluxe and the Signature Plus, so you have to decide whether you'll go enough to make the increased cost worth it. Along with including MaxPass, the Signature Plus also includes parking ($20 per visit) and has no blockouts. So if you go enough, the parking cost might make it worth upgrading to Signature Plus. Also, as mentioned the discounts are generally higher and there are no blockout dates. That being said, if you're only going to go a few times and/or are not going on weekends, then it might be worth it upgrade. In the end, you need to estimate how many times you'll go in a year and when you'll go and use that to determine whether the Deluxe or Signature Plus is a better option.

Currently for parking I don't pay for it (and don't want to) by having my family drop/pick me up, but then I have to rely on their schedule when timing my visits, so I can see the appeal of included parking. I've already decided that I'll probably add on MP to the Deluxe so that brings the cost up a bit more if I decide to go for that one. So far I've visited 10 times (and plan on many more) so I've more than made up for the cost of my current AP.

I suppose then, it's more a matter of when you'll visit than how many times. The Deluxe is subject to blockouts, primarily Saturdays and during Christmas. At this point, MP is $75, so that would bring the Deluxe AP to $694 and the Signature Plus is another $355 on top of that. So you basically need to decide if you'll go enough on the blockout dates, buy enough, or have to pay for parking enough to justify the price increase.

Is there a reason you're looking at the Sig+ over the Sig? Are you planning to go at Christmas?

A Sig with an MP add on would be $924 (not accounting for any renewal discount). But you'd be blocked out for two weeks at the end of the year. However it also tends to be exceptionally crowded during that time.

A Sig+ would include MP without having to do it as an add on, but would be $1049 (not accounting for renewal discount). A difference of $125. But no block out days.

The only added benefit (currently) beyond MP being included for the Sig+ over the Sig is those two weeks around Christmas and New Year. If you're not planning to go during this time, I'd recommend a Sig with MP added on (since you said you already decided to do this piece of it even if you get a Deluxe).

Regardless, think about what days you go and how much parking you utilize (or might utilize given the option) as others have said. Throw it in a spread sheet or whatever works for you to compare costs and make the decision from there based on what fits your touring style the best.

Personally? I'd go (and do go with) a Sig+, but I go during those two weeks the Sig is blocked.

I actually forgot about the Sig so that option never came to mind.

If you plan to go at all during the weeks of Christmas or New Year's and plan to use parking and/or Maxpass, then get the Signature Plus. If you don't plan to go during the weeks of Christmas or New Year's but think you might want to visit on Saturdays or holidays and/or use parking, then get the Signature and add Maxpass to that if you want it. If you don't see yourself needing to park and don't plan to visit on Saturdays or holidays and are content to work around the blockout schedule, then get the deluxe.

This is what I was going to mention. No reason to go with Sig + unless you have to go over those two weeks. Signature with Maxpass is still cheaper than Sig +. I'm never in town over those two weeks at the end of the year so I don't need Sig +, so I keep my Signature.
