I have stayed at a Moderate Resort both times I have stayed on property and have noticed the "outside" entrance to the rooms. I think this gives it less of a "hotel" feel and more of just an exciting touch. Are there ANY Deluxes with outside room entrances? My next trip to WDW will be in a Deluxe resort and I am wondering this, because I am skeptical that inside room entrances would take away from the Disney that I know. Any comments/suggestions? Has anyone ever experienced this and found they like the inside room entrances better? Thanks for any feedback.

Anyone? If you're confused by what I meant by "outside room entrance", I mean that you never actually go into a hotel to access your room, the door is accessable from the outside walkways.

Hi: What about the poly, your only going inside a hallway to your room. You do not pass guest services, or restaurants as they are in another building. I know it is not exactly an outside entrance.

Or old key west.

Deb.

i am confused even after your explanation.

do you want the entrances to be like the all stars and the
moderates, where you literally walk outside when you leave your
room.

no deluxe has that.
but if not, please explain again what you mean
thanks

None of the deluxes have outside entrances to the rooms, but that's supposed to be a perk. Moderates are more like motels and deluxes are more like hotels.

I agree with you eddiewells, I really liked the outside entrance. I'm not sure why though!

I believe the Garden suites at the Boardwalk have outside entrances, including a small fenced in little "yard".

The fact that the deluxes are more like "hotels" with indoor corridors and "inside" entrances....I feel does take away from the atmosphere.
I also prefer being able to step right out of the room.....whether on the way to the pool or bus stop or whatever.
This was one reason we did not like BC. Had to walk out into the hallway (along with every other peson on the floor), down the hall, all the way to the elevator or stairs, then down another hall to try and find the door, etc.....you get the picture.
The exception was at AKL, where it was nice to see all the animals etc.....
This is probably why we will never stay at the Contemporary Towers.

One of the big reasons that I like the three deluxes that we've stayed at is because of their theming/'magic'. If the resort does a good job of carrying a playful theme throughout the 'common areas' I really find I like it better than the cold concrete out the front door of a moderate.

Both AKL and WL have wonderfully themed central areas and the decorations/etc in hallways/'interstitials' (the little areas along the hallways where there are chairs/etc) add to the theme for me - they do not detract from it.

The GCH at the Poly is also wonderful - I always get a 'warm fuzzy' walking up to the entrance - the water and plants, the parrots and ukelele music, the waterfall inside, etc. The hallways/etc aren't as well themed as the AKL or WL, but the use of bamboo accents, and tropical colors/etc is pleasant.

Not having stayed at other deluxes I don't know whether it's the same at them or not.
