Good Morning and Well Wishes for Everyone in Florida!
Just wanted to know what you can tell me about the Deluxe Rooms at AKL.
Are they worth the extra cost?
What savannah do they overlook?
Are there any bad views in the bunch?
Thanks for the info! :D

We stayed in a deluxe room but we had a pool view. We still loved the view from our room and if we went into our hallway there was a huge window with a great savannah view. I will say that we were a little cramped with a family of 5.

"What savannah do they overlook?"

There are three savannah's at AKL; from reading these boards, most seem to like the Arusha best (though the other one's have their fans too!). Each savannah has different animals, except Giraffe's which are on all three. For example, I was on Arusha and I love Thompson's Gazelles. "Tommies" are NOT on Arusha though!

"Are they worth the extra cost?"

In my opinion, YES. However, many people will tell you differently. If you feel it's not worth the extra cost or it's not in your budget there are still PLENTY of places where you can view the animals.

"Are there any bad views?"

Yes. I was once in a savannah room that was at the far end of the hotel. I overlooked a fence.
