Help! I'm indecisive and I don't know what to do! Let start off my saying that I've switched hotels- WL to Poly. A major reason we switched from WL was the convience of the monorail. I understand there are refurbishments but I keep reading about people having issues with the monorail and knowing when it's open. Currently, we are booked in a standard room at the Poly at the end of September. With all the talk about monorail closures it makes me wonder if I should switch to a TPV at the Contemporary for about $30 more. Getting to MK for a 8am BOG reservation, I really don't want to have to deal with walking to the monorail to find out its closed then going to the busses, etc, that early.

If anyone has an advice or stories of their personal experiences. I'd prefer to stay at the Poly because I love the theming but not sure if the theme is worth a potential transportation nightmare...

If MK is the only focus of your trip, the convenience of CR cannot be beaten. For overall access to everything, Poly has advantages on CR. The boat from Poly will get you to a PPO reservation as efficiently/more delightfully than the monorail, anyway. Just use the boat.

For just $30 more I would jump at a TPV CR room! The convenience of being able to walk to the MK is awesome, but also that view is the very best in all WDW, IMO. the CR rooms are huge and comfortable and it is awesome having the monorail run through your resort (which is really neat when it is running). Also, the CR has shops, dining etc all under one roof. No running through the rain or suffering through the heat for a coffee or to grab something quick for a snack/ meal. Plus, you have direct transportation to all other resorts. Finally, all rooms at CR in the tower have balconies, so no worries about a request for a third floor room.

We love the CR!

If your only concern is one PPO BOG breakfast, I would stick with Poly. Yes, you can walk from CR, but that's where the pro's stop. The Poly has better theming, better pools, better laid out rooms (cannot stand that there is no counter space in the CR bathrooms!). Even with a TPV room, you still have a view of the parking lot. I love CR for historical reasons, but it looks like an airport hangar and feels like a convention resort. For an overall better vacation, I would stick with Poly.

It would not make sense for Disney to give a 8am ADR if you couldn't get to it in time. Since the only way to get to MK is either Bus, Ferry, or Monorail for most people.

Just check with the front desk the night before to see if you need to modify your route. They will be more than helpful to get to you to where you want to go on time.

Here is some information from the Disney Mom's Panel: https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney...-showing-dining-reservation-words-noon-75387/

The TPV at the CR is amazing! We love the CR, and my kids had a blast at the pools.

We are staying at the Poly this year Honestly, you can't go wrong with either.

I did a Poly/Contempo split stay last summer, and I have to say that while the walk to MK from Contempo was nice, overall I enjoyed Poly a lot more. The the rooms are a slight bit nicer at the Contempo, but the grounds and theming of Poly are so much better.
Getting to MK early shouldn't be a problem: just take the water ferry that launches from Poly. It is only about a five minute trip.
I tend to avoid the monorail at all costs, since it breaks down every time I am on it (I think I'm bad luck. The L here in Chicago does the same thing...it clearly me at this point), so I can't help you much with that. But yes, I would take Poly over Contempo all day every day.

You say you'd rather stay at the Polynesian. Therefore, I'd stick with the Polynesian. :flower1: I'm headed there next month and cannot wait!! You'll be able to get to your b'fast one way or another.
I have an early BOG b'fast a couple of days, too. Keep an eye on the Polynesian FAQ for updates from me - and from others who are there throughout the summer

P.S. I love CR, too. You can't go wrong.
