Which deluxe resort has the best (shortest, quickest) transportation to DowntownDisney??

After our Disney cruise next summer we're going to stay for a couple of days at WDW, and since DSs like DowntownDisney the most, I'm wondering which one(s) has the fastest transportation.

This past summer, it wasn't exactly quick for them to get from the WL and the Polynesian, to DTD, waiting for a bus. It was quite time consuming.

I know that Port Orleans has a direct boat to DTD. How long of a boat ride is this? I'm wondering if it might be worth it to stay at one of those resorts, so that DSs won't have to spend so much time waiting for transportation.

P.S. Transportation for the parks isn't a priority for that trip, that's why I'm only wondering about the DTD transportation options.

P.P.S. Maybe we should just stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, which I'm sure they'd both enjoy...?? :scratchin :earboy2:

The boat from POR to DTD is a little more than 20 minutes, and it's a great ride. POR is currently our favorite resort. We've tried all levels, and we just love this place! It's also a fairly quick bus trip.

Consider in renting points from the DVC board and stay at Saratoga Springs Resort. Its right across the lake (perhaps you can get a room with a view of DTD) and the rooms seem very spacious and comfortable.

Ive been wanting to try out a one bedroom there, I hear nothing but good things!

SSR is the best way to go for DTD. Our stay last week in Congress Park was a 5 min walk to DTD. The 1 BR's are to die for. Big Jacuzzi Tub after a day at the parks is a slice of heaven! :cloud9:

Thanks for the replies so far...

I have a question: How do you get from SSR to DTD? Are they connected by land? We saw SSR from DTD last week, across the water, but didn't see a bridge or anything, although I might've just missed it.

Yes, you can walk there, the walkway goes around the far end of the lake. We love it there our home resort! You shoould check out the DVC rent/trade board you can usually get a great deal on points rental from a member....good luck!

saratoga springs & old key west have the boat to dtd which is fairly fast & relaxing with the water. there's also a walkway from saratoga springs & old key west to dtd if youre feeling ambitious.

Saratoga Springs is totally the way to go. Its deluxe almost all the way, just has outside hallways.
