For the past two trips we have stayed at the Poly in the concierage lounge and loved it. For us, it is all about the theming and the staff. During our second trip, we found that the staff wasn't quite up to prior standards.

We are thinking about going next February (cancelling Disney Cruise) and would like to stay at another Deluxe but are unsure which one. We would be staying concierage with two DSs (4 and 9). The boys are still at the age where MK is a large part of the stay but we also found we were spending more time at MGM and AK. Any suggestions?

You should check out tht YC or BC resorts. I'm pretty sure that the kids would love the great pool they have there and it's close to MGM and Epcot. Go check out the pictures and tour Disneyworld's web site to see if would work for you. I'm willing to bet other DIS members will be telling you the same thing. Good Luck. pirate:

I'll join the others and vote for the Yacht Club or Beach Club. The pool alone is worth the stay and you can walk to Epcot. Both resorts are beautiful...

Good Luck :wave2:

Another vote for the Beach Club. We stayed there last July and headed back this July. The kids really love the pool (and so do I !!)

Have you considered concierge at the Contemporary? I think the Contemp. is a great hotel with kids -- you can *walk* to the MK if you want, the view from the tower is amazing, Chef Mickey's is right there, and the video arcade is the largest (and best, in my ds' opinion) on property.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is my vote!! I've heard their concierge is awesome, and I'll be trying it out with my DD (3.5) in Oct. I stayed at AKL in a savannah view in Jan and my DD loved it. I also wasn't too excited by Poly concierge.

AKL CONCIERGE!

We've stayed concierge there twice and leave for our third visit on Monday. It is my favorite resort by far. It has a nice pool and the animals provide a little entertainment for small children. The fifth floor (where most of the concierge rooms are located) has a cool rope bridge across the lobby. We also appreciate having dedicated bus service to and from the parks (no stops at other hotels). The concierge lounge is beautiful. It offers great food and plays childrens videos/movies to entertain the kids. I can't think of a better place to spend your vacation! :)

I love the Beach Club but there is one draw back to the pool when you are traveling with children who have different swimming abilities. DH and I could never be together in the pool area. I was watching the two younger children when he had to keep an eye on two older children. The deeper parts of the pool are greatly separated from the shallower, young child friendly areas. If your children are equal in swimming abilities, then it won't be a problem, other wise, you will see your spouse when you get back to the room. ;)
The GF and the Poly pools are more condusive to watching kids of different abilities as is WL.

When my children were small I always stayed on the monorail loop. The children and I really enjoyed the Contemporary tower rooms. It was easy getting to and from the Magic Kingdom and Epcot and there was always something going on to entertain them. :cool1:

The Boardwalk is my choice for best resort with children 4 & 9. The pool area is not too large & the Clown slide is not too intense like the Poly. The BC pool area is too big to watch small children, for me.

Hello friends!

I will also put a bid for the Boardwalk. It has tons of stuff for the kids, with even more things to do for the parent. The places to eat, The Brewery, Dancehall...plus You can never ever ever beat the 200 ft water slide :3dglasses

another vote for the Boardwalk! My kids were 2 and 4 last October and we LOVED it!

I would say YC/BC but many of the BC rooms do not have a balcony so I would probably go with the YC... (of course that is our Favorite!!) :cool1:

My vote is for Wilderness Lodge. I think your boys would love the theming there and the boat ride to MK is vey nice. Fort Wilderness is close by so you can take advantage of all the activities there, such as the Campfire sing-a-along, petting zoo, etc. My girls love it there. :flower:

How about the Contemp?
Its still on the Monorail loop........lets face it, the monorail is more exciting than a boat ride anyday. Kids LOVE the Monorail! Easy to get to the TTC by monorail also. Dont forget about the Resort only monorail trains..........its like having your own monorail that the general public wont be able to use, so its not crowded at park closing or opening time.

The concierge has two levels of service. Tower club.......12th floor = basic concierge. 14 floor concierge = more like the Poly.....full service + big $$$. Tower club is about the same price as GV Poly Concierge.
Rooms at the contemp are very well themed as is the whole resort and the pools are O.K. too. Plus they have a hot tub and a slide/ waterspout play area for the kids. Its still one of the "originals".....if your into that sort of thing. VERY close to the MK........its walkable.
Very exciting for the kids with the monorail going right through it and all!
Good resturants + Chef Mickeys !

We just booked Poly concierge for November/December, but the Contemp. was a VERY close second for us. Tower Club wasnt available so I booked the Poly, or else we prob would have been at the Contemp instead! They are both GREAT though! We are 5 in total.......3 kids so we will be at the MK a lot also, and staying on the monorail loop is HUGE if you have kids, and you may want to take a break mid day.
Good luck with your decision..........
Later..........Syndrome

My vote is AKL!! I have not stayed there(planing on staying there in June) but seeing that you have children, the animals my be a big hit. When we stayed at BC we did not enjoy it. The pool was amazing but the hotel was so big that it seemed like we were walking forever!!!! :confused3 I say AKL!!!!

I would go for the Contemporary Tower, just because I am a monorail resort lover. Like you, we enjoy the Poly conc. (my personal fave). My DH loves the Cont. Tower, particularly the Tower Club!!
