Deluxe Kind of Guy ----> Considering Value!

Personally, I would not make the switch. We are now DVC members and have gotten very used to all the extra space in the DVC villas, especially at OKW, our home resort. After 15 years of membership, it has become a major leap for us to stay at a moderate, let alone a value resort, unless it is a brief (1-2 nights) stay.

For many years, when we visited WDW, we stayed at the CR, GF or BC. We did stay at a few moderates (and one value) when the deluxe resorts became too costly and before we made the DVC purchase. And they were not bad experiences. Now, though, we are totally spoiled. I never thought that could happen, but it sure did. Even when we stayed at the CR in 2000, which we adore, the room felt "small" to us and it is not a small room by any means!

I know that folks say, "if you will hardly be in the room, what does it matter..." and that is a valid point. But it is really nice to have a comfortable (whatever that may mean to you personally), relaxing place to call home during your trip. I once got sick with the flu on a WDW trip and was bedridden for 3 days....but it did not feel so bad because I loved where we were staying. I did not feel "stuck". I have enjoyed all of the moderates we have stayed in; the value, not so much. None of them are bad choices; after all, they are WDW properties! :) I guess I have become accustomed to a certain level of service and comfort and am just not willing to switch any more. I am blaming it on turning 50 this year and being much more aware of what is personally important to me. Life is too short. Go with what your tastes and budget allow and enjoy.
