Deluxe Family Stateroom--about that extra chair....

Silly what worries me!
The extra chair in front of the Murphy bed cabinet? Where do they put that when the bed is made?
Do they squeeze it next to the chest in front between the sofa and the desk?
I have visions of my 19 year old (oh my, just realized he'll be 20 by then!) tripping over everything when he comes in and it's pitch black....

Thanks for humoring me.... :-)

The staterooms with Murphy beds do not have the extra chair...just the Family Deluxe rooms that have a 4 person occupancy/no Murphy bed :)

We had a family deluxe that slept 4 and no extra chair. But then no extra room either, just a super sized verandah.

I'm confused! On the DCL website it shows the Murphy bed and the extra chairs, and in many google searches it does as well.
But it would almost be easier if there wasn't one there. I didn't put in the original post that we are Oceanview, not Verandah, cat 8B, pictured from the DCL site below:

i think that might just be the wall but I could be wrong.
Yeah, that photo really doesn't show a murphy bed (as I know it). The Murphy bed is typically on the same wall as the couch, not across from it. I think it's just where the wall is, that's where the curtain runs that covers the porthole, although it does seem a bit wide (on the desk side) there. Maybe that room has a structural situation that the wall actually makes the desk a bit shorter?

So do all Deluxe Staterooms have the Murphy bed as well as the sleeper sofa and the pull down bed?

We are Dream - Family Ocean View Stateroom with Veranda cat 00V
(Room 12510 if that helps :) )

No, not all rooms will sleep the max. Only those stateroom categories with "Family" in the name may sleep 5, but again not all do. This thread shows how many max passengers and what beds are available in most of the Dream/Fantasy staterooms (a few haven't been reported on): http://www.disboards.com/threads/dc...pdated-list-of-rooms-needed-1st-post.3194826/

I don't see 12510 on this list, but DCL's interactive deck plan indicates it sleeps 5. It may have a double sleeper-sofa and bunk, without a murphy bed.

Enjoy your cruise!

I think it has the double sleeper and the pull down. No problem that will still work for us :)
Thanks for your help!

I don't think any V rooms have the Murphy bed.

We had an 8B with murphy bed on our recent B2B on the Dream.

We did NOT have the blue extra chair in the room.

We did have the red desk chair.

After the second night the stateroom host put the "coffee table ottoman" under the desk (it fits PErFECTLy) in that space and then the chair in front of it. worked great and freed up floorspace.

If you don't want the chair have the stateroom host remove the chair from your room

In 3 cruises (all verandas) I've never seen that chair! Didn't even know it existed. :)

I got one of those "fake" Family verandah staterooms on my last Fantasy cruise. I was extremely disappointed. It had nothing in common with most Family staterooms, and everything in common with regular staterooms. The thing is, Disney now classifies rooms as being standard or Family based on total square feet, including the verandah. So, the Family staterooms with "oversized verandah" are really just regular staterooms - that is, no extra room inside, and without the upgraded shower.

I checked back to my pictures of my 4C cabin on the Fantasy in her first couple of months of sailing and they did have the blue chairs in the cabins sleeping five. They must have gotten in the way when the murphy bed comes down. The Fantasy also may saved some weight getting rid of those chairs as they were very heavy:)

I was really looking forward to sitting in the chair and looking out of the window as we have a 8B booked for our next cruise! Has anyone ever requested one with success?

Does anyone know what 9574 on the Dream has? I would kind of like that Murphy Bed...
