My girls loved the activities at OKW more than going to the parks at one point in their lives!! They have 2 or 3 activities planned each day (about 1/2 have a charge of some sort but usually pretty nominal)...favorite freebies are the weekly "unbirthday party" ...a grand BD party for no one/everyone, pool games, scavenger hunts...plus the community hall has foos ball, all kinds of board games, arts and crafts stuff, free computer games, ping pong, shuffleboard, tennis, badminton, basketball, playground etc. The guy that worked there was always so friendly...my girls couldn't wait to get there and see him each year.
Boardwalk has a great community hall also...it seems less used than OKW (don't know if that is because it is a smaller DVC or if it is just more out of the way so fewer kids use it)....not quite as many scheduled activities, but still an impressive schedule. And a great free glow in the dark air hockey table.
OKW's main pool is pretty awesome now with the sand castle slide (longest one at WDW except water parks they say). and BWV has a great pool too with the keister coaster.
All of the DVC resorts also have DVD players and free movie rentals/checkouts for members and those staying on points (small fee for cash guests).
OKW has lots of room to run, ride bikes, etc and you can rent paddle boats, mice or pontoon boats. Any of the DVC resorts will probably have similar schedules of planned activities and free stuff in community hall....they are true family resorts. My kids could have happily spent a week at one and never have ventured into the parks.
