ok so we've got the deluxe dinning plan. I'm sure it would helf if you knew our whole week. anway we're maxed out. but a friend told me this:

If it's still the same as it was, they don't break your credits down into x-amount of adults and x-amount of kids credits. Basically, for your family, each day you should have 5 seated meal credits, 5 counter service credits and 5 snack credits. S

So, basically, let's say you go for a counter service meal. You and hubby each order an adult meal at one credit each, then you get two more adult meals and let the three kidssplit it. So, that means you spent 4 dining credits and have 1 left for that day.

Make sense?

Of course, you'll have plenty of credits not to have to do that, but a friend gave me the tip a long time ago when they went. We basically just used our's because we had plenty of them.

IS it the the exact same thing/work the same way becasue we got the deluxe meal plan? believe it or not, we've run out of points and now i'd like some to do hoop-dee

I'm so confused. LOL!!! I may switch/cancel/move things around but i can't things/the plan straight. Please explain if what she said is right even though she used the wrong plan example for our trip :)

I have been in line behind people at resort counter service who were being told told they cannot purchase 4 adult meals with their dining plan. Assuming the castmember was looking at the card, which probably showed there was not 4 adults on the dining plan...which in your case, your cards would say "2A 3C"...for two adults/3 children on the dining plan, so the castmembers checking you out can see before they even ring up the items that you're supposed to be ordering so many adult meals & so many childs meals. It's completely possible that some castmembers enforce it and others don't...we've certainly seen many posts showing big discrepancies among Disney employees. However, fact is that the Disney rules state that you're supposed to order kids meals with kids credits (which is what you've actually paid for, after all.)

At all table service restaurants, the kids will definitely not be allowed to purchase adult meals with kids credits.

What you described is the regular plan (1TS, 1CS, 1 snack per person per NIGHT), not Deluxe (3 meal credits, 2 snacks per person per night).

*On the regular plan the TS credits are divided by adult and child.
*On the Deluxe (and CS credits) they aren't divided by adult/child in the computer BUT the CM taking orders shouldn't allow you to order 3 or 4 adult meals with only 2 adults on the plan.

how many credits are we entitled to total for the week for the 5 of us?

eta: so for 6 day stay we get 3 sit down (delux)meals a day? 6x3 = 18?

how many credits are we entitled to total for the week for the 5 of us?

How many nights are you staying? It's given based on nights:

Regular plan: 1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per person per NIGHT

Deluxe plan: 3 meal credits (TS or CS), 2 snacks per person per NIGHT

I am closing this now, as the DIS Restaurant Board operates under a policy that discussion of using child credits to purchase adult meals is not allowed, unless the restaurant has no child's menu.
