Deluxe Dining

We like to do the deluxe plan once a year.. though have changed our dining habits recently so will likely not do it again.

We liked it because we like to do character meals/buffets.
We liked the idea of having a time and place to sit down, decompress and be in air conditioning several times a day.
We like being able to order ANYTHING on the menu and not worry about cost.

We didn't like:
The amount of wasted food.
The added tips for food we wouldn't have ordered paying oop (i.e. I would never order a soda or a dessert or likely an app).
We liked trying all the different apps and desserts ~ but threw a large portion of food away.
We liked having the two snacks per day so the kids could get something whenever they wanted with their own allotment of snacks.

We paid an outrageous amount in tips when we did about 21 table service meals for 3 adults and 2 kids we paid upwards of $500.00 in tips alone.

We switched to QS and find that suits us better except you don't get the guaranteed seat when you want it.

It really depends on what your priorities are on your trip! It can be a bit of work making it a value.

DH & I like the DXDP whenever it's just the two of us going for a week long trip. When we have the kids & grandkids in tow it's just too much hassle for us to do the deluxe. We prefer the regular dining plan for those trips. If DH & I are just making a short trip we usually stick with the basic plan, as well. That's what works best for us.
