We're going to be eating at Fulton's, & I was wondering how the dining plan works with this restaurant. We will be doing the deluxe dining plan. I notice the sides are ala carte. With the DDP you get appetizer, entree & dessert, so does that mean we would pay out of pocket for a side?

The Deluxe Dining Plan (DxDDP), which you have, includes an appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic standard fountain beverage. The entree includes everything that is listed in the description of the entree on the menu. If a restaurant has a separate menu section, often called "Sides" or "Accompaniments" with items that have a separate price point, you would have to pay out of pocket for anything ordered from this section.

For the sake of clarity the DDP is the acronym for the regular Disney Dining Plan where the Table Service credit includes just the entree, dessert and non-alc fountain beverage. :)

Also keep in mind that Fulton's charges 2 credits per person.

Yes, that's why I was wondering if I would have to pay cash for the side. Didn't think I would want to do that, considering we'd be using two dining credits.

With DxDP, you usually don't have to worry about using 2 credits unless you want 3 full meals a day.

Good point. I think the best way to do DxDP is by doing TS Breakfast or lunch followed by signature dinner or dinner show.

Yes, we are mainly doing TS breakfasts & signature dining. I don't want to waste two dining credits on a meal that I have to pay for the sides, is my point.

Did you go to Fulton's ? We have DxDP and do many signature meals. From the menu it's hard to tell what will be included and what won't. Any insight would be appreciated. Our reservation is for 12/21.

We ate there last year and I'm fairly positive that most entrées came with a side. Check out the menu on All Ears, it lists the sides that come with each entrée. As far as I know, you can't swap for a side listed in the "side" section of the menu. You would have to pay for those OOP.

Great info. Thanks! I always forget about AllEars. I'll check out the menu. Truthfully I feel like I'm stuck in a big black hole of Disney planning! It's all I do.

Appetizer = anything listed as a starter OR a soup/salad
Entree = no restrictions, but anything marked "for two" must be shared (cannot be ordered for one person)
Add-ons & sides = not included
Dessert = no restrictions

Another piece of good info! I think I'm all set. We're going to try Fultons!

1) Alas, that is the way it works..
2) DxDP is not a meant to supply everything for the meal.
3) That is why so many do not opt for DxDP over the normal DDP.
