Would like opinions on whether you all think it would be worth doing the DDP for one day only? We have 6 nights on a one bedroom at OKW and added one night at the end of the stay in a studio at Copper Creek. Since our anniversary is towards the end of our trip I thought it would be nice to do go out for a fancy dinner. I am normally too cheap to spend the $$.

Am I correct in saying with the DDP we would get 3 sit down meals for the day? So, I could do a signature restaurant on a Friday night and then a sit down lunch the following day if I choose? If this is right, then it might be worth it. We don’t normally do any dining plan because I feel we do better OOP.

Trip is in September, which I know is coming up quick. If I can find availability, what suggestions on a restaurant that gives me the best meal and value? DH and I are not very adventurous in trying new things, so we’d probably enjoy a good steak or seafood. TIA!

Ok, thanks. So with that plan, would you think doing it for one day would be worth it?

You probably need to decide where you'll eat and what you'll order to know if it is worth it.

So, go see what is available for your dates and then look at the menu. Remember, you both get an app, entree, dessert, and alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. If that sounds like too much food, then it still may not be worth it. Total price for two of you for one night on DxDDP will be $232.50.

I know it is too late now, but it would have been better to put that one night at the start of your trip. Then your refillable mugs were good for the remainder of your vacation, even at your spit stay (up to 14 days). For an upcoming trip, we are doing the dining plan for one night at the beginning of the trip. I did the math for our planned meals and we are coming out several hundred dollars ahead (it is that much for us as we have 3 kids). As Sharonabe said, figure out where you want to eat and then decide what you might order and add it up. Also remember that you get 2 snacks each that you will need to use.

Since you like steak and seafood, what about the Yachtsman, Narcoosee, or Citricos? Are you going to a park on your last day? Which one? If not, Disney Springs might be a good place for your final credit.

We actually do have a one night reservation at the beginning of our trip! We added that when we got a good deal on a flight from Philly. I was thinking of maybe doing exactly what you suggested, to get the mug at the beginning of the trip. But, we get in really late Friday night, so I’d need to use all three entitlements on Saturday. And I don’t know how much use we’d get out of the mugs at OKW.

Looking at the menus I am leaning towards Yachtsman. I’m just going to have to price things out and see if it’s worth it. It would be really nice to splurge for at least one night!

New thought. Just read another post from someone who did the DXDDP for one day. They shared a TS meal at 2 lunches, and then had dinner for two consecutive nights using one entitlement each. I am going to have to do some calculations to see if this is a good value. Of course, that would take away the signature restaurants.

If we do this at the beginning of the trip, the mugs would still be good for 14 days?

Yes the mug would be good for 14 days. Doing the deluxe plan for one night can be a great deal!

Decisions, decisions! Flight at the start of the trip is late. I can move it up to first nonstop out of Philly around 5 am. Do I want to wake up at 2 am, use another vacation day and spend approximately 50 bucks for that earlier flight? Granted, it does get me another whole day at Disney, but the extra flight cost will take away from any savings I may get from doing the one day dining plan. But I do feel we could have some nice TS meals for a decent price.

DH will not care either way. He complains at times that he has no say, but when I ask his opinion he typically says he doesn’t care, to do whatever I want!!!

My vote would be if doing the dining plan ends up saving you money and that money saved is that is then balanced out by you changing your flight I would change the flight just to have more time at Disney. As long as you don't think you would not be too tired. I ended up opting to take a crazy early flight for my birthday trip in September part of me thinks I'm crazy to get up so early and then go the the Halloween party that night, but then the other part of me is thrilled to have some extra time at Disney. Let us know what you do!

Early flight AND Halloween party would be crazy!!!! Getting way too old for that! Last time we did the party was right after the hurricane. And it was super packed. Would love to do another one, but feel that they are overselling and not worth the cost.

I just realized that I think we might be there are the same time. Go us! :)
