Deluxe BC or CL BWI

We've never stayed at Beach Club and my girls really want to. However, they aren't averse to staying CL at BWI. So I grabbed a CL BWI room since no BC rooms were available.

I'm still on the lookout for a CL BC room but today, when I was doing my morning check, there was a deluxe room (not CL) at BC available.

My family is useless and are leaving the decision to me  so I'm crowdsourcing...lol

So, which would you choose, CL at BWI or Deluxe at BC?

Each for different reasons. The BC in any room for access to Storm Along Bay (SAB). To access the slide at SAB is actually outside of the pool area by the beach on crescent lake.

The CL BWI for a much quieter experience with excellent CL service, hey it also has a creepy Clown pool aka Luna Park pool. It has a great slide that is actually inside the pool area.

Note: what are the ages of your children?

I’d pick club level at BW. But, my children are between the ages of 3-10, so I like to be able to have eyes on everyone while in the pool. I hated our stay at the Yacht Club because the layout of storm along bay guarantees that someone is always unhappy while we swim.

My girls are 14, 17 and 22. They love the idea of the pool (more than the parks...crazy kids) But they also like the idea of relaxing in the lounge. I know they'll be happy no matter what. I think I should choose BC but selfishly, as a non pool lover I want BWI.

Ugh...decisions, decisions

We stayed bc cl last year. We picked there for the pool. My kids liked it but not as much as we thought. They are 11 and 14 and given the choice they would choose cl over SAB. They REALLY like club level. That's always their top request over anything else.

When you say deluxe room, do you mean a deluxe studio or a deluxe room in the hotel? The studios are DVC so right, no CL but unless something has changed very recently, all deluxe rooms in the hotels are automatically CL. Personally, my kids and myself prefer BWI vs BC but both are great so it's hard to make a bad choice.

Nothing beats BWI Deluxe Room/club level. Hesitate to say that...would like to keep it a secret:). The chefs at BWI club are amazing. While the rooms are a bit dated, and the lounge can get a little smoky, it's still the best. We did YC/Deluxe room/CL last Christmas...the room was absolutely amazing! The refub really takes the cake...but....due to the CM's at the BWI, we're going back there this Christmas. You won't be sorry with either BC/YC/BWI.

A deluxe room at the Beach Club is a club level room. :)

I would choose the BC deluxe room simply for the amount of space it provides for a family of 5 with older children. I also think SAB is much better suited for older children than the pool at BWI. Keep checking. A CL room may pop up.

Unfortunately for the OP, this is not correct. There are deluxe rooms at BC that are not CL: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/beach-club-resort/rates-rooms/

BC deluxe rooms have always had cl access in the past. It looks like Disney added a deluxe category that does not have club level access for 2019. That is new.
I think this change is going to be really confusing to folks trying to book.

We've never stayed CL at the BC, but have stayed at both BC and BWI (CL at BWI) and my choice would be BWI CL. Both are nice resorts, but CL at BWI is amazing! The food offerings were great and the CL CMs are some of the best (IMO) as everyone was very friendly and personable.

Seems like there's been a lot of room category additions/changes lately.

I agree!

I don’t follow the YC/BC thread - is that a confirmed recent change, or are we just assuming so based on the website language?

ETA - OK, now I see how it’s listed - one under standard rooms without the “Club Level Access” tag and one listed under CL options with the tag.

This change has not been mentioned on the YC/BC thread - yet. :)
