hi all,

we are considering purchasing the Deluxe AP but would like to know... the 12 months that it's valid.. do they commence from the date of purchase, or from the date you first use it for entry to the parks?

i don't want to purchase now for our trip in nov/dec 2012 if it's going to be valid from the date of purchase as that will be a waste...

also, does anyone know if it entitles you to any discounts etc while on the DCL cruises for merchandise etc?

also, to add the AP to our room reservation at disneyland, does the AP have to be in the same name as the person the room is reserved under? -- our reservation is in my name, but it is my DH who is looking to get the AP and we don't have the same surname ... just trying to limit any issues :) if it's easier for the AP to be in the same name as the reservation, then i will get the AP issued in my name :)

thanks :)

If you are purchasing the actual AP, it is valid starting at date of purchase. If you are purchasing the AP voucher to turn in at DLR and exchange it for your AP, it starts at date of acquiring the AP.

It does not entitle you to any benefits with regard to DCL.

It is HIS annual pass. The discount is good for HIM, not his spouse, friend, or cousin's next door neighbor's brother. (Okay that last one was just for fun -- but he can't use it either. :goodvibes) Disney has really been getting strict about "sharing" AP discounts, even with the same last name. When you are at the Park and you and your husband get something to eat, if you pay with a credit card with your name and he puts down his AP (even if you had the same last name), they have reportedly been not accepting the discount --- as it's his discount, not yours. Easy solution: Can you just put his name on the hotel reservation?
