Deluxe AP Question

FWIW, I would second the upgrading on Tuesday to make use of your second MM. We really love the early mornings and not having to wait for rides! You can upgrade after park opening on Tuesday and then make use of all the great discounts and still have the early morning rides. Definitely the best of both worlds!

I'm not sure where you are staying, but the AP7 rates are out and are applicable for August as well. We are staying on site in August and were able to save quite a bit (we were already booked on site for full price!). More money for activities and souvenirs!

Also, if you are going to any character meals, the vouchers from GAT are quite a bit cheaper for this time of the year even over the AP discounts. We got our breakfasts for $26.50 each including tax and tip!

Well, since I will only buy the AP once i'm there, I doupt that I could get the AP rate now, or is there something I am not understanding? Anyway, it would probably be too expensive!! Actually the only thing that's stopping me from changing my flight is to know if the Hojo is still available for my 4 additional nights. Once I get a reply back to confirm this information it will be a done deal. I will feel kind of ackward being in Disney all by myself (a first time for me) but i'm sure i'll managed :thumbsup2 Thank you guys!!:goodvibes

I've made many solo trips to Disneyland since 2006 and it's a lot of fun, so don't worry about it too much. You only have to worry about your schedule so you can do whatever you want to without worrying about someone else not wanting to join you.

I just wanted to note that not every DTD location offers an AP discount, and House of Blues offers it only before 5:00pm.

In terms of when you upgrade, I would take a look at how much the MM is worth to you and then weigh that against the savings you would have on food after you have the AP. Since it sounds like you'll either upgrade on Sunday or Tuesday, try to price out the 10% savings on your meals and then decide if that's worth more to you than the MM entry.

And just to give you more food for thought I found that I should have bought a premium AP. With the higher discounts (15% on food, 10% on merchandise over $10), and not always being able to plan around blockout dates, the premium was a better choice for me. As much as you think that you can plan around blockout times, it doesn't always work that way.

When I booked with AP7 (our first year with APs) the CM told me that almost always (no guarantee) resort hotel guests will be given early admission on Sat/Tues/Thurs - anyone have any thoughts on that?

It's true that since the 50th celebration in 2005, the DLR resorts have offered this unadvertised perk to guests staying at the three resort hotels (GCH, PPH, DLH). You get unlimited MM (early entry) to DL on the days it is available during your stay. MM days are (Sun, Tues, Thurs and Sat). You have to show your hotel charge slip for entry and each charge slip allows a total fo 6 persons in the park for MM.

Thanks for the response! I was hoping it was true! We love MMs but couldn't pass up the great AP7 rate.

im doing math in case we can get aps. Idk how importion mm would be to us. I know we are shopping at world of disney a few times. and I wonder if we shoulde just get the aps right off the bat and not use mm.

It would cost 50dollers more or something for each of us to go to delux. then I
think one of us should get a big ap the one with shopping dicscounts and stuff and thats about a 100 more
do you all think its worth it? even if humm we only did oct trip dec trip and next sep trip?)
