Delta?

Has anyone here flown with Delta?

I have priced flights for our dates in September with Southwest, Jetblue and Airtran. All of them come in around 950 or so (more in some cases). We're flying out of Buffalo.
I just checked Delta and I can get the four of us round trip for 744!
Just wondering if there's a catch and it's a horrible airline or something.

We flew Delta on our first trip from Buffalo. If you have a stopover then the flight to the major stopover will likely be "Comair" (small Delta affiliate). Comair was great and the FAs very friendly. I found the Delta FAs very rude when we went, especially on the flight from Orlando to Atlanta, however it was when Delta pilots and FAs were threatening to walk out in the face of salary and job cuts so maybe they're nicer now, or maybe we just got a few bad apples.

No problem with Delta here. We flew them last year from Montreal, and service was great at all time. They even have service in French over the phone, and at check-in/gate in Montreal. Wow! I know it's no concern for you, but it's still service points for them. However, we didn't have any delays (mechanical, weather, ...), so I can't judge on that. And equipment and flight times changed on many occasions (mostly small 15 minutes adjustments), and will make you loose your seats assignment, so be savvy and check your flights once a week on their Web site. Finally, someone always has an horror story for every airline, so don't sweat and go for it!

We have used them 3 times and this summer will be our fourth. Our only problem is them changing flights on us. But that is going to happen when you book 330 days out.

They will not have direct flights out of Buffalo where with Air Tran SW and Jet BLue you can get direct flights. You have to decide if the sayings is worth the extra time it will take to connect.

My first trip to Disney was planned for only 4 days (leaving on a Sunday, and having 4 days in the parks and then leaving early Friday morning for home). The flight out of Halifax got delayed, but they assured me that I would make my connection. It got delayed even more, and then I missed my connecting flight through Boston. But they put me up in a hotel overnight in Boston and I was at MGM Studios before 3 the next day. It took a 1/2 day from my already incredibly short trip!

At first I thought I was never ever going to fly with Delta again. After cooling down, I realize that they did their best in the situation and gave me food to eat and a place to sleep. Now the hotel on the other hand, gave me a room that you had to take what looked like service stairs down to the basement to get to. I took one look at the stairs, turned around and asked for a new room. I was travelling solo and kind of creeped out by the thought of what was down those stairs!

Delta takes care of you if there are problems, and they were friendly and tried to help me as best they could. They had offered to fly me to Miami and then have a taxi drive me to MCO, and then a limo, but I figured it was best to just wait til morning.

Have used Delta out of Buffalo for the last two trips. The price was great. The flight changes...delays and missed connections now have me thinking twice about using them. The first time it happend I thought it was just bad luck but when it happened again this year I wasn't so understanding. A direct flight in my opinion is worth the extra 30-50 dollars per person.

We are flying out of Buffalo $220 pp 1 hour layover in Atlanta ( I think ) Way better that the 3.5 hour layover when we flew out of TO to Miami last year that made for a very long day!!
