Delta Skymiles CC Offer Question

Right now I have an offer of 35000 if I sign up for their gold card with the addition of some other valuable perks (free first checked bag and priority boarding plus a statement credit if I buy from Delta)

Now here is my question. This is good until end of May. Is it a possibility this deal would get better? Has anyone been offered more than 35k in sign up miles? I have some banked already and with this bonus we could have two free tickets based on current miles per flight in January.

I guess that leads into another question, do mile costs per flight fluctuate just like prices? We are booking for Jan 2017.

Thanks!

They definitely fluctuate. It's hard to get a 25,000 mile ticket. I was looking for PIT-LAX and most were 65,000.

Yes, offers vary. I got my card on a 50,000 mile offer. If you don't need the miles right now, wait.

Miles for tickets vary too. This summer they have reduced mileage deals to Europe.

Good to know! I have been getting offers nonstop so maybe I will hold out to see if there is a better one coming my way.

I'm on a Delta flight now. goldoffer50k.com for the 50k offer (on the back of the magazine). Also saw it on the delta homepage.

It should also be noted that you can use your miles to help pay for tickets. I typically fly FC and plan on spending 30-40K of my miles to offset the price of a FC ticket. I haven't tried looking it up with coach but you could check that out as well.

I just got an offer for 60k miles in the mail a few days ago. Not sure what the name of the card is, but its the Delta one with an annual fee of $195.

Yeah, 60K is the highest I've seen, usually from delta.com. Right now it appears to be 50K.

Yea from what I have read 60K has been the highest but usually with a higher spending requirement and annual fee (I think its the platinum card). I ended up just taking the 50K offer with a 1k spending requirement and annual fee waived for the first year. Plus a $50 statement credit. I was happy with that.
