We flew from Hartford to MCO. We had 5 bags, and one of them came off of the conveyor with the side seam ripped open. It was at least 18 inches long, but by some miracle, nothing fell out.

I trudge over to the luggage center, expecting to be given a piece of duct tape. I wait my turn, and much to my absolute amazement, the Delta agent comes out with a brand new suitcase that's virtually identical to the one that was damaged! (To tell the truth, it's a newer version and actually nicer.)

I asked if there was a private area where I could transfer the contents. No problem, they brought me around the back to a table that was out of view.

I was asked how old my suitcase was and about how much we paid for it. That was all that was needed and I was on my way.

What could have been a really bad start to our trip turned out to be a great experience. :D :D :D

Delta suprised us too!

2 years ago, we were at Disney in Aug (peak). We had abt a 2pm return flight. Well, it was canceled.

We decided to stay overnight at the Hyatt right at MCO. Delta paid for our room! They could have "forced us" to take a very bad connecting flight at 7pm. But they said, no problem! We flew out early the next am.

The same thinghappened to my sisters suitcase on the way home from one of our trips. Delta asked how much she had paid for it and they gave her a check for the full amount. Luckily she was able to manage without losing anything important.
Delta was very accomodating.
