Delta Seat Sale Vent

Today I went to check out prices for flights from BOS to MCO for next year and they are advertising a new seat sale deal for early birds. This sale JUST came out.

I put my dates in, avoiding all the black out dates, came within all the guidelines yet I am quote $150 p/person HIGHER than what they are advertising . I called Delta thinking it must be an internet glitch only to be forwarded to the Delta.com service dept. where I am told after much "please hold a minutes" the fare has been sold out.

I am VERY skeptical whether or not they even had any sales..IMO it's probably an advertising ploy.

I have seen sellouts of the cheap seats within minutes of IPO for really popular non-blackout dates including late Sunday after Thanksgiving. For the most part a few cheap seats did exist on each flight; I have in the past snagged them.

How flexible are you with different travel dates?

there are limited seats available. Did you try booking 1 seat vs 5 seats? if you try 5 seats, and only 4 are at the lower fare, you will be quoted the higher fare for all 5.
