Help! I just received an updated itenerary from Delta that has us landing in Atlanta at 2;13 and our connecting flight leaving at 2:12. What do I do??? Should I call them now or wait until closer to the date (this is the return trip home on March 17)?? Help! I have only flown 2 other times and this is my family's first time (DH, DS9, DS8, DS5) and I want everything to go as smoothly as possilbe. :confused3

They did this to me, although my connecting flight took off an hour before we even landed to get it. :confused3

I would look up the schedules for all flights for that day, then decide what new flight you want. Call Delta and ask for "re-ticketing" immediately as the CSR don't generally speak good English and they can't help you anyway.

When you get reticketing, they can look at your ressie and see the issue. Tell them the flight you would like and I have found they are usually accomodating.

Good luck

I wonder what the deal is with Delta lately because they also did this to us. The rescheduled our connecting flight for an our before our first flight even landed. We called Delta and they straightened it all out on the phone, no problem. It was just a minor inconvenience really.

This is slightly OT, but the other thing they keep doing to us though which I am not happy about is seperating our family. This has happened on 3 seperate flights now. We are currently in Orlando and on our trip home one leg they put DH, DS and I in three seperate rows. Don't know what they were thinking snce ds is only 3. I believe they told dh that we have to wait until we get to the airport to get that one straightened out. I just have been getting really aggravated with Delta because they keep doing this to us. And so far I've been 0 for 2 getting someone to switch seats with us.
Sorry just had to vent. I know I could have much worse problems, lol.

ETA: DH just called Delta and got our seating dilemma resolved so now I can relax. lol

We had several flight schedule changes before we even hit the three month mark. Small changes that didn't effect anything but my BIL's flight got him in too late for a dinner ressie we had. He called and asked to be put on an earlier flight. There was no problem. Good luck!

I wouldn't call it a recent problem with Delta. Back in 1998 I had them rebook a connecting flight (in the middle of a 4 leg routing) that left me overnight at my first transfer point and then had me arriving an hour after the last flight left (47 hours before the next flight with matching endpoints). Unfortunately I didn't notice the problem until later than you. When I brought it to their attention they rectified it as much as possible. (I still ended up delay 1 day, but at least it wasn't 3!) I suspect there is a bug somewhere in their computer system such that it doesn't successfully notice connecting flight conflicts.

Follow the advice of others, call them and fix it as soon as you can. They should understand the problem.

Thanks for the advice. I will call and see what I can arrange! :sunny:

I agree with everybody else about calling them now, but don't be too surprised it you have another flight change before you leave. ;) If you do, just call them again.

I too have had some scheduling problems with Delta. We have been choosing Delta over Southwest lately since we can pick our seats. The problem is that whenever they make a schedule change (and they do this a min of very 3 months-according to rep I spoke to last time) your seat assignments disappear, or even worse, they choose they for you and everytime they ahve they've put is at the rear of the plane. This can be a major problem when we connect (in ATL) and need to hurry to make our connection. Even if the flight changes by only 1 min. or by flight number, your seat choices will disappear. They are supposed to notify you by email but they aren't very good at it so I usually find out on my own by regularly checking my itinerary.

My other beef with Delta is on their credit vouchers. I bought a tix for my Dniece to come home from SLC for Thanksgiving. 3 days after I bought the tix, the fare dropped $100 (on a $250 tix) I called to get the lower fare and even after they took $50 away for the reticketing, there remained a balance of $48. They were mailing out a voucher (to my niece, since the tix is in her name reagardless of who paid for it) and as of today's date, I haven't recieved the voucher. I spoke to a rep in India about a month ago and she said she was going to send me an email, immeadiately, with ticket number to be used for credit. No email either. I've sent an email to Delta, no response. My biggest concern is that the voucher will only be good for a year and 2 months have already gone by. She could have used the credit for her flight home for xmas too!
