Delta pilots agreement

Keep in mind that Delta is still in bankruptcy proceedings, and this does not absolve their financial issues. Those booked over the next couple of months *should* be safe, but anyone booked longer out than that can only be cautiously optimistic.

I just need things to work out for a couple of months, I hope for everyone that this is the start to better days. The thought of not being able to go to wdw, is horrible.

hey folks....notice the word "tentative..."....don't count your chickens just yet.....

well this is a start in the right direction anyway!!I will take it with a smile, I know it is not sealed yet but close enough for me to be satisfied & confident that we will fly Delta on May 21!!! :Pinkbounc :cool1: :cheer2:

I am not worried. All union contracts are tenative until they are voted on. And I can't recall the last time one didn't pass with the airline rank and file....

I figure it will take a month or so before it's ratified and a final agreement.

However, on a down note if your flight is on Comair I have not seen anything on thier negoitations with their Flight Attendants so that risk is still out there....

I agree completely, this is the last, best chance for all concerned. I would be shocked if the pact was voted down.

Hmmm. Not sure what this means, but I just double checked on our Delta reservation for June and our flight used to say "Operated by Comair" under it. Now it says "Operated by Atlantic Southeast". Is that a good thing for us, or a bad thing? I'm so confused. The first leg of our flight is "Operated by Freedom".

Fantastic news! I hope everything works out for Delta and its passengers.

CarolA, both legs of my flights are listed as "Operated by Comair." However, I booked directly through Delta and thought I was flying directly through Delta. If the FA's do strike at Comair, is Delta obligated to find us another flight or are we stuck with the "$50-$100 standby routine" on another airline? Help!

Hey Sassy-I have one Comair flight, too. I called Comair and they said that, if the flight attendants strike, Delta will bring in other regional carriers to cover the Comair flights. If you're worried, give their customer service a call (800-727-2550). I found them such pleasant and helpful people to deal with. Comair is small so, if they strike, it's easy to get you on to something else and the whole of Comair won't go under-if Delta had gone on strike, they carry over 300,000 people a day and other airlines wouldn't have been able t pick up the slack, plus Delta might have folded meaning no one to help passaengers figure out what to do or write you over to other airlines.

On the question of timing, I have a friend whose dh is a pilot and she used to be a FA. She just let me know that it will take along time for the pilots to vote on this. She said it's mail-in ballot and the union usually does a 'roadshow' thing where they go around to major hubs and present the tentative package to the pilots before the vote. Then, if they voted it down, the union would probably go back to the bargaining table, not strike right away. Just thought I'd share that info from someone much mroe in the know than I.

I have learned way more about the airline industry/corporate-union relations due to this! LOL

Well this good news indeed! Now i have 2 tickets to Disney and 2 to Cinn :rolleyes1 . Guess i will have to cancel some then.

GEM,

We also had our Comair flights changed to Atlantic Southeast. We were originally scheduled to fly through CVG, but now all flights from our airport go through ATL on ASE.
