Thank God we are flying home Sat night so we still have Sun to recooperate before heading back to work Mon!
Thought we wanted to go to Gatorland but heard it's pretty lame. Now we're not sure what to do. 715pm wont get us to RI till after 1015 and we still have at least an hour from the airport - gotta stop and get the car back from the hotel we stayed at for park n fly before we fly down.

What was your original flight time?

We are booked on a Delta non-stop flight back to pvd on 11/10/02 for 6:05 pm - it would be wonderful if they moved out time up to 7:15 pm!!

Thanks for your info.

Lisa

could be the same flight # - 1st it got changed 1/2hr earlier then now moved back an hr so it's 1/2hr later than original
what are you doing with your day?

Its really interesting. I've had reservations on Delta since June I believe for this coming December. The departure and arrival times for some, and at times all, of my flights have changed several times. Usually just 10 to 15 minutes so not a big deal at all. Couple of my flight numbers have even changed, once from 1852 to 194 then back to 1852.

Really interesting stuff! :D

I flew Delta once, and at the very last moment, they bumped my flight back a few hours... Which not only ruined plans that had been set up for that afternoon, but made my arrival time VERY inconvenient!! :( :( :(

Is Delta like the WORST at this or what? I do not fly a lot, but next time I will go back to another airline.

PS: Another reason to NOT plan to fly in the morning of departure on DELTA. Can't they bump your flight time back up to like four hours without any penalty?

Oh I don't know. I have been treated well by Delta in genreral prior to the current situation with all the airlines. Been on several different airlines where flights times have been changed at the last minute. Mostly due to equipment delays because of weather somewhere.

I just find it interesting how they adjust flight schedules by a few minutes here and there periodically. This is from a purely intellectual curiousity standpoint. Just so intrigued how the process works taht makes it worth such minute adjustments. I always figured they were more or less compelled to make these changes by outside forces such as airpots, FAA, weather, etc...

I would not have mind being bumped a few hours, Delta cancelled our 2000 flight 4 hours before the flight, saying weather which was not true because everyone else was flying. We only found it out when we got to the airport and there was no flight until a.m. They would not even pay for a hotel, we were 450 miles from home in NC. After our trip I did get finally $250 in vouchers, and after using the voulchers the next year have never flown Delta since. Luckly for us we were at WDW, they did not make us pay for the 1st night we missed.

imgoingtodisney - After we left the ship we went on a airboat ride before our flight home, saw a low of wild life. If interested I'll give you the details.

Since your flight is scheduled out so late, I recommend that you do NOT us Disney transfers back to the airport because you are then on their schedule. I don’t know if you are flying a carrier that will pick up your baggage at the port. If you aren’t and you end up spending the day at the airport, you will find out that you can’t check your baggage until four hours or less than your scheduled departure time. We found this out when we had a 6:30pm flight and were at the airport at 10:30am.

What I would do is plan on getting off of the ship as early as possible, getting a rental car and spending the day at the beach, Kennedy Spaceport or an Orlando area theme park. If you’re first off of the ship you should be able to rent a car and get to Orlando around opening time for most of the parks then spend several hours running around having a good time before heading back to reality. Since we had transfers we ended up back at the airport with nothing to do – so we rented a car (very reasonably less than $50 – it was cheaper than taking a van round trip for the 3 of us) for the day and went to Downtown Disney and eased ourselves back into the real world. :Pinkbounc

Find something to do rather than hang around the airport all day!! And -- Have a great trip.

We have flown Delta bargains from Denver to Orlando several times (much cheaper than United from Denver, but Delta is NOT non-stop). They have nearly always adjusted the times or cancelled flights. Sometimes this has been a good thing. If the time change becomes a problem they can change you to later or earlier flights. Be adamant and ask for a supervisor. A few times when we ended up on WAY too early a flight we were able to get an extra day.
