Are these usually?

We are flying Delta Connections for the first time...we've flown with Delta before on a regular 727, but I'm not sure how big of a plane these Delta Connections are!

Any help or feeback would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I've never flown them either - but I guess it would depend on where and how far you are flying. The smaller planes are not that bad. I guess that's what your thinking..??

Here ya go!

Without more information, I will just be taking a stab, but ASA and Comair (both operate as the Delta Connection) fly 50-seater Canadian Regional Jets. I know that they have been bringing some 70-seaters online as well.

I love the CRJs.

You can try directly on Delta's website, there company information section provides their fleet of aircraft and the routing.

Go to the reservations page, pull up your flights, click on the flight number, it will tell you what the aircraft is.

If you post the flight numbers, I can tell you exactly what it will be.
However it will most likely be the plane pictured above.

The one pictured above is a Canadair CRJ which seats about 50 people. There is a larger version that sits about 70 however I don't think Delta Connection has many of those in their fleet.

The CRJ is a great plane to fly. It is two by two seating and there is one attendent on board. The seats are a bit smaller than regular airline seats though. Also the windows are lower than usual and if you like to look out the window (like me), then your neck may tend to hurt.

Delta Connection also flies Embrear ERJ 145 jets. Again they are similar to the above but made by a different manufacturer. The seating is also a little different where it is one and two seating. The windows are also bigger and provide a better view.

My preference would be the ERJ over the CRJ.

The other regional jet that Delta Connection flies is a Dornier 328 Jet. The difference here is that it is a high winged airplane and the engines hang from the wings. Cabin layout is two and two and the views are all excellent since the wings are above. Delta Connection does not have many in their fleet and I've heard rumors they wish to phase them out.

In any event, all three are state of the art airplanes. Enjoy your flight.

What a cute little plane, Blondie!!!;) :D

I'm sure it will be just fine!

Thanks for the info, CAP Aircrew.:D

Thanks for all the help and advice!

Looks like we are flying on a Embraer Regional Jet out of Richmond, VA. It's often hard to find a flight out of there that isn't overly expensive and without a layover somewhere. This flight was direct to Orlando, and at the time of purchase, very affordable. That same flight is now double what we paid for it two months ago!

In the past we've usually driven up to either Dulles or BWI, and we're tired of the Northern VA traffic! Driving to Richmond is a breeze in comparison!

The Embraer ERJ-145 is a great airplane. It's like your own little private jet. What's nice about flying on these airplanes is that they are easy to load and unload. Great views out the windows too. Enjoy!

We've flown in the Canadair the last two times to MCO and back. They are fine and don't feel a whole lot different. The only drawback we've really found is you have to load from the ground. The last trip it was raining cats and dogs when we left in the morning and you have to go outside in the weather to get on the plane. Other than that we were fine. This trip we may be flying on the Embraer and I don't know if I'll like that setup. There's a row of single seats on one side and a row of double seats on the other. If you don't book early you may not get to sit together. Most of the Embraer flights the double seats get booked quickly.

I love the CRJs. I found that the seats are much wider than the ones on 737s (ie--My butt actually fits on the CRJ) I do keep bumping my head though. Also, the overhead compartments are much smaller than 737s. They do alot of gate checking of the larger carry-ons. The legroom is great compared to the last 737 I flew on. You do have to lean down to see out the window, but after too many flights in a 737 where I had to fold up my legs and arms so I wouldn't touch anyone beside of me, I love them!
