Hey everyone-

Has anyone ever booked seats on Delta "comfort plus"?

I bit the bullet and did it today. The seats are at the front of the plane and supposedly have extra legroom.

Mine from NY were $29 extra per seat, per flight so it ended up being an increase of over a hundred bucks for two round trip seats.

If anyone has done this I would love to know if I made a good decision or if I am just a sucker.

Thanks!

I just flew to and from Europe with a group of people on Delta. Many of us upgraded to comfort plus. Whether or not it was worth it depended on the type of plane. We flew down on a wider body plane with a 2-3-2 seat configuration. The comfort plus seats were well worth it on that flight-more leg room, better recline, we were all glad we upgraded.

On the way home, we were in a plane with a typical 3-3 seat configuration. It really wasn't worth it on that particular plane. The room gained was minimal compared to the difference on the way over.

Can't tell you the exact type of equipment used for each flight, just the seat configuration. I don't think I'd upgrade for a short flight in a plane with 3 seats on each side, but some planes with that seat configuration might have a significant increase in leg room. Depends on the plane.

It's "economy comfort". I upgraded SNA-ATL last year, it's really just 3 or 4 more inches of legroom. A big man sat next to me so it really wasn't more "comfortable" because the seat width is the same, not wider like first class.

:confused3.

Three to four inches of extra leg room makes a big difference!

Purchasing Economy Comfort also gets you Zone 1 boarding, which can be helpful if you have carry-on luggage. The space difference isn't huge, but unless you're on a very small plane, it isn't negligible, either.

My husband upgraded himself and my son on our flight back from MN last summer. My DD and I were still stuck in the normal tight seats near the back of the plane.

He and my son said those comfort seats were great for the 3 hour flight. I wasn't happy he didn't upgrade all of us.

I purchased the economy comfort seats last fall for myself and my two adult kids and this summer for my son. We all thought it was worth it. Liked the extra leg room and the zone 1 boarding.

I also purchased the seats for my connecting flights this fall. I have a kind of short connection time and want to be one of the first off the plane in case the flight is running late.

I think you made a good decision to try it. Then you will always know if it's right for you.
