Hi,

I think the reviews for the Dell Streak have been pretty mediocre. As for the Blackberry, those who have a Blackberry phone and plan to have one for a while like this tablet. Without the phone, however, some functions will be missing. The Nook generally get good reviews as an e-reader, but really only functions as a tablet if you root it.
You might get better responses if you provide some info on why you want a tablet. I was just reading a blog about an Android App developer buying a Samsung Galaxy Tab at Staples and hearing the following from the Manager: Oh, OK, because were selling a lot of these things, and we get a LOT of them back. People buy them thinking theyre getting rid of a laptop, and they all come back returning them.
Is there a reason you are not interested in an iPad? -- Suzanne
I actually wanted something mainly for reading and a few games. DH thinks I should get something with a little more capabilities. The salesperson suggested the Dell. Then, I got confused.
My husband has the ipad and my son has a viewsonic g-tablet--both 10". My son rooted his to run android OS (honeycomb) and added a 16GB memory card. He surfs the net and plays games. I know he had to install flash to run some games. My husband's Ipad cannot play some of the games that my son's can because of flash incompatibility. He can watch Hulu on his without a subscription service.
My son says that if you do not want to root/hack it, he would look at the Toshiba Thrive. Comparable in price to the Ipad
The Dell he thinks is 7" and is running froyo (OS) and it is outdated and not meant for tablets.
He said that if you look at the Samsung Galaxy, look specifically at the 10.1, which runs honeycomb.
