i didnt say that ASUS has sold anywhere near as many laptops as Dell. Asus just recently started making their own machines after years of manufacturing hardware. All i said was that ASUS was my preference.
My bias towards Dell is not strictly laptops. I will not recommend anything Dell to anybody. By many, Dell computers are considered throw away computers due to the cheap hardware they use. In order to get the $200 computers out there on the market, they cut every corner they can. In my opinion they are about 1/2 step up from emachines.
All I was saying was that since Dell sells so many computers, you are bound to see more defective ones than other manufacturers that don't sell as many based on sheer numbers.
That being said, I am really POed at Dell right now, and if I could find a system from another manufacturer that was similar to the Dell Zino, I would cancel my order in a second. Unfortunately there are few choices out there. The Mac Mini lacks HDMI and both the Acer and ASUS Mini computers max out at 2GB of RAM, which is considered the bare minimum for Windows 7.
