Dell Battery/Charger

I bought a Dell 1565 Inspirion 8 months ago, now my battery is dead. Any suggestions on replacement? Dell support says they guarantee battery for a whole 90 days I miss my laptop. Can you get replacemnet batteries/chargers any place other that Dell?

Wow, I guess I'm lucky because when my battery stopped holding a charge within a year, Dell replaced it for me.
OP, maybe you can call them again and speak to another CS rep?

ebay.. I have to order the battery and charger for my dell. The batteries for mine run around $25

Dell's AC adapter plugs are crap. If you need to buy one, buy the RocketFish one that has all the different adapters to work on different laptops. My husband went through the dell ones like water until a coworker told him to buy the RocketFish. It was $100 as opposed to $70 for the Dell one, but it also didn't die in four months.

I can't help with the battery, though, although I will say that the battery on my Asus laptop is 18 months old and going strong, so I'd be pretty upset if it died after only 6 months. Did you buy it at Best Buy or something where you might have paid for an extended warranty?

I would call back and talk to someone else. That seems too short a time, our's was just replaced after 3 years of use, and we used the battery option alot. And the original charger/adapter is still fine.

Do you keep it plugged into a surge protector? You should, just like a destop computer. I think if any surge affected the battery/charger though it would have your system too.

I bought a battery from Dell and it stopped holding a charge after 5 months and they replaced it. They told me that their batteries are guaranteed for a year. Maybe you could call back and speak to someone else.
