Delicious Indeed!

Such a relaxing ride! We usually do LWTL after eating at Seasons. aahhh...

It's always interesting to see CMs working in there, and we have seen people working in the lab. One thing I haven't seen the last couple of times we did this was a pumpkin growing into a Mickey shape; did they have any of those?

I would love to be able to get out and pick some veggies to make a nice fresh salad!

I always find it hilarious that LWTL & Maelstrom have FPs!

Love all the pictures!!

I never realized that the greenhouse "dome" looked like Spaceship Earth! I'm so going to point that out to DH next time!

The java apples do look funny ( I searched Google)

I had brussel sprouts a few months ago just because I remembered you saying you wanted them. (Although it wasn't a big issue because I've ate them before.) It reminds me of some type of potato wrapped in cabbage.

ok, I just had to google Java Apples....they are funny and I DON'T think they would taste like a 'regular' apple...but, I will have to try to find one to try!!

Great update...I love LWTL....it is so peaceful...sorry the Buffalo scare you :(

I remember the Buffalo from your past TRs!

And you know I can totally relate to the "I ate that" during the fish tanks part.

I've had Java Apples before. They're only called apples cause of their outside colour. They don't taste like apples at all. Very spongy but juicy. I'm surprised you don't know them.

No new updates? :( No pressure, just loving your TR! I started reading Kingdom Keepers and I really enjoy it. It reminds me of the books I read when I was younger (as I'm sure the target audience for this series is, but I love it!) and it's neat to be able to picture the places. Can't wait for more! :goodvibes

You know the fourth KK book is out now, right? I requested it from the library, but I'm still waiting for it. I'm sure it will come in while I'm at Disney and then I'll have to re-request it. :rotfl:

Living with the Land, I've never considered it to be a very scary ride before, but I do think I might have seen a giant scorpion monster in one of those pictures. :scared1:

Haha, you wrote that comment on the 1st of May and since then, I ordered, received, and read KK4! Ahhh, it was so tense what with the whole not knowing who to trust thing.

Suprisingly, I liked this ride.. I didn't think I would but I knew that DH would like it. It's kind of a relaxing enjoyment for me. hehe

Excited to see where you go next and to see pics! :goodvibes

It's nice to have these rides when you can just be off your feet for a bit!

That was a great update...just like riding along with you guys. Aww, I want to go back already (but then again what else is new?).

When we rode Living with the Land on our trip I thought of you when we passed the buffaloes, hehe. :)

As we go to Disney each time and we ride Living with the Land, I'm going to be constantly commenting about those buffalo! Haha, I'm thinking that there will be a few more DISers after each trip who think twice about the buffalo from now on!

Poor buffaloes, they aren't so bad Rae! :)

I remember when we took the Behind the Seed tour they were adamant that we not touch or walk on the sand/soil in the greenhouses, they don't want it getting contaminated with anything, thus the booties when the CMs have to go out there to work. :thumbsup2

I can't imagine what would happen if they all brought their gunky shoes into the sand/soil! I like that everything really is fresh!

I can relate to you and your sweet potato phobia. When I was little, I got the stomach flu (or food poisoning) and I ended up barfing the Kraft Dinner I ate the night before (I know, TMI) but for the longest time, I refused to eat KD because I thought it would make me sick.

Brussel sprouts are okay. They taste like... a vegetable :confused3 Sorta like thicker cooked lettuce. Meh, not my favourite but I'd eat them if someone cooked them for dinner.

Yeah, too many foods get ruined because of how I've felt from them! I had fried calamari and then went to the hospital from a terrible gallbladder attack (before we knew it was my gallbladder). Can't eat it anymore!

Haha, they taste like a vegetable! I'm so eager to one day try it when it's done well.

I don't remember if there were any pumpkins growing as Mickeys. I think that if there were, I would've pointed it out to the newbies, hehe.

I wanna eat at Sunshine Seasons or Garden Grille just to experience those fresh veggies!

I always find it hilarious that LWTL & Maelstrom have FPs!

I actually think Maelstrom with FP is a good idea because that line moves so slowly! It was fun to be able just get on with little wait this past trip when it was so crowded! I was so surprised that even the FP line was taking so long for such a quick ride!

Love all the pictures!!

I never realized that the greenhouse "dome" looked like Spaceship Earth! I'm so going to point that out to DH next time!

Haha, right? I think it's so silly that he thought that's where we were when he was little.

I wonder if we have access to java apples!

I remember the Buffalo from your past TRs!

I've had Java Apples before. They're only called apples cause of their outside colour. They don't taste like apples at all. Very spongy but juicy. I'm surprised you don't know them.

That's the one spot my dad likes! Haha, he's very eager to say he ate the fish's family or something.

Ooo, I wonder if I can get them in Chinatown or something if it's not readily available at a regular supermarket.

No new updates? :( No pressure, just loving your TR! I started reading Kingdom Keepers and I really enjoy it. I'll get one today! I THINK. Haha. Hopefully I won't get sidetracked.

I'm here, I'm here! Haha, your comment bumped this thread up and it made me go, "Wow, I need to update this!" Thanks!

Monday, February 21: Back to Soarin'

Wow, it's been a long time since I last updated this trip report. When I did come back, I was updating my other one. I'm here though! Hopefully, I can get these done this summer so that I can focus on preparing and planning for the wedding and Disneymoon next May!!!

After our ride on Living with the Land, we went back to Soarin' to use our FP. It's so typical of us to do that because we don't like heading back to the pavilion afterwards. I think Howard and I might do that on our honeymoon though just because we really would like to have a meal at Sunshine Seasons. I've only eaten there once a long time ago with my family, and even then, all I had was tomato soup. So like I said, it was back to Soarin'!

IMG_6380.jpg

Don't you always feel so special going through the FP line? Haha, I do!

IMG_6381.jpg

This would make a good "Where are we now?" photo.

IMG_6382.jpg

During our 2010 trip, Matt was jupming up and twirling around while we were going through the FP line. I actually have that on video, and I'm pretty sure I already posted it on the other TR. I was reenacting it because I was telling Dani, Ray, and Nik about it since Howard and I thought it was hilarious because he doesn't like Soarin' due to his fear of heights!

IMG_6383.jpg

Getting closer to the spot where we hand in our FP tickets.

IMG_6384.jpg

Excited to be in Disney World! Haha, Dani has the universal "fob" pose.

IMG_8765.jpg

REALLY EXCITED to be in DISNEY WORLD!

IMG_6385.jpg

Blurry, but here's a pic of part of the wall. It's strange that Soarin' is so bare even though I know it's supposed to mimic like, an airport or something?

IMG_8763.jpg

It's so dull here though.

IMG_8767.jpg

As we got closer to the front, we were excited to hear that we were going to get row 1 again!

IMG_6387.jpg

This time was even better because we were in Concourse B, so we were top AND center!

IMG_8768.jpg

I was interested in what was above us. Howard's picture was better than mine though.

IMG_6388.jpg

Haha, this is mine. I was curious to know where the smells came from.

IMG_8769.jpg

I kind of got the hidden Mickey in the fireworks. I got a better version of it last year.

IMG_8770.jpg

And of course, at the end of our fantastic ride, I had to record the seatbelts unbuckling again just like last year. That sound is awesome! Haha. It's so Soarin' specific.

As we walked out, Howard took a quick picture of a CM by a FP machine. Did you ever stop to notice their costumes and the FP machines? They're so distinct based on each land or attraction.

IMG_6390.jpg

We were finally done with the Land! Where would we go next?

Yay an update!!! I've missed this TR! I love Soarin soooo much. Like, ridiculously. I love the queue area, with all the blue lights! It's bare, but it's perfect! :)

Your 6 second seatbelt video made me want to be in Disney SO bad right now!! 81 more days!!

I have a few updates ready to post because I worked on them last night! I'm excited to get it back up and running. I'm behind on all of the TRs and PTRs that I'm following though!

It's going to be so grossly hot today, and I'm thinking, "If it's this nasty, might as well be in Florida! At least WDW has places for really great AC breaks!"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, you're so close!

Me too!! Just about 3 months to go for me and I'll be hearing it in person! :yay:

It's funny how we can associate sounds with WDW! It's been a while since you've had TR; I'm very excited to read it!

Monday, February 21: Try Some Beverly!

An indication that we weren’t kids anymore is the fact that at that point, we all needed a bathroom break! We went to Innoventions since it’s one of the cleaner bathrooms (the one behind the Character Connection).

IMG_6393.jpg

Although these pictures are dark, I'm going to post all 3 because I think the progression is funny. In this first pic, we were just waiting around. Dani was the only one who saw that Howard was there taking a picture.

IMG_6401.jpg

This is when Nik and I noticed it.

IMG_6402.jpg

And then we got this pose! Because even going to the bathroom is more fun at WDW than going to the bathroom elsewhere! Haha.

IMG_6403.jpg

We also went to get 2 Kim Possible FP. I purposely wanted to get 2 just in case we wanted to do another mission and the phone wouldn’t let us. Last year during the Easter break, we had to return the phone right away and weren’t given the option to try another one.

IMG_6394.jpg

Some of the decorations there.

IMG_6398.jpg

This is about as close as we all got to Innoventions. There are just way too many things to do at Epcot!

IMG_6399.jpg

Our next stop was Club Cool! We were thirsty, and I really wanted them to try Beverly! I pointed out some of the differences and my favorite one (Mexico, yummy!). Haha, yes, I'm not actually pointing to Mexico in this pic that Howard took.

IMG_6404.jpg

I didn’t surprise them with it though because I wouldn’t want anyone to make me try something that might be potentially disgusting. I told them about it, but I did say that it’s really not as bad as people make it seem. I do really believe it’s because we’re Chinese and we have things that are bitter like bitter melon. I, of course, had to video it! Click to watch! And of course, we have more of the reason for this TR name in it!

Although they didn’t have to spit it out or anything like that, I think this was still one of the most interesting Beverly experiences especially since Dani kept drinking it! Haha. Not what I had expected! Howard did get some in a cup, and I tasted it again since I had forgotten what it tasted like. It’s not a great thing, but again, not something that’s so unpleasant. Of course, since we were there, I wasn’t about to waste my stomach space on Beverly or anything else but the soda from Mexico! It still is and will probably always be my all-time favorite. I also had some of the watermelon one from China, but I still preferred the Mexico one. I liked that the one button press didn’t fill the cups as high as it used to. I think it’s such a waste when they do that because people end up dumping a lot of what they don’t want to drink. If they want more of a particular soda, keep getting more.

IMG_6413.jpg

Here are some other pictures from Club Cool. This one is mine.

IMG_8778.jpg

And this one is Howard's.

IMG_6414.jpg

Howard and I are excited about having photographers for our wedding because gosh darn it, most of our pics are one-handed shots! Haha.

IMG_8776.jpg

I was trying to get this picture, but I was too short to get it how I wanted it!

IMG_8780.jpg

Howard was able to get a higher view.

IMG_6415.jpg

I wonder how many cups they go through each day.

IMG_6418.jpg

Lastly, a "Where are we now?" pic!

IMG_8781.jpg

After that bit of a rest from the bathroom break, getting the Kim Possible FP, and the Club Cool stop, we were ready for more rides!

HA, that Beverly video is pretty funny. I like how they kept analyzing everything and kept drinking it. Nice. I think it might be because I didn't have a big sip but I didn't think it was as bad as everyone says either. :confused3

Haha, they were a bunch of weirdos. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was still really funny as evidenced by my really loud laughing in the video!

Monday, February 21: "Increasing Speed!"

We went to Test Track next where I got FP for the group again. This time, however, I gave them each a ticket just so that they could try putting it in and seeing what it’s like, haha. It’s part of the Disney experience!

IMG_6419.jpg

Here's the one I did.

IMG_6420.jpg

Don't you love how the machines from the attractions are made different?

IMG_6421.jpg

The ride was actually down at that point, but people were lined up outside. Since there were a good amount of people but not too many people there, I figured the ride was down for a bit already, and that it would be a good decision to wait for it to get back up and running. We got in line behind this family with a crying boy. The boy was hysterical because he didn’t want to ride it! He was saying that he was going to throw up. I really hoped they’d get him off the line because that would’ve been so gross! Thankfully, they eventually decided to move on. I can’t blame the kid though because it’s very loud! They were testing the cars, and it just sounds so fast!

Anyway, once that family left, we were behind a group of Japanese guys and girls. I asked Dani if she could understand what they were saying since she’s been to Japan twice and learned bit, but she said they were talking too quickly.

IMG_8782.jpg

I don’t remember how long we waited, but soon the ride was back up again and we were headed into the queue! I’m glad we made the decision to just stick around there because it wasn’t long. Plus, we were underneath the monorail track so we were in the shade for most of it.

I was excited to wait on the regular queue line since I had only done that once the first time I rode it years ago. More things to look at and more picture opportunities! It took maybe half an hour to get to the front? I’m not sure. I didn’t really keep watching or jot anything down in the trip report journal. I guess it didn’t really matter because we were talking and pointing things out to each other, so it didn’t seem long at all. Here are some pictures (some without captions ... haha, I hate putting pics w/o captions!) of the wait in the queue:

This is my kind of car. I drive a CR-V now, but I would totally drive this and LOVE it especially at its slower speed!

IMG_6424.jpg

This is most other people's kind of car! Haha.

IMG_6423.jpg

IMG_8784.jpg

IMG_6425.jpg

Though this is a louder video because we were in the queue, it's definitely one of my favorite videos of the trip just because it shows that we're a bunch of idiots. Haha, you can see the group all excited to go on Test Track! It still makes me smile now.

Anyone know what this is for?

IMG_8785.jpg

I wonder how many of these earmuff thingies there are in the entire building. If you notice, they are EVERYWHERE. YES, I do know that they're not earmuffs. Haha.

IMG_8789.jpg

Howard took this, and I really like it!

IMG_6431.jpg

Ouch!

IMG_6432.jpg

Very into the ouch picture!

IMG_8792.jpg

I'm not sure which is creepier, these dummies or the ones without faces.

IMG_8790.jpg

I didn't realize that you could see the track go around the building when you're waiting inside! I guess cuz we always either have FP or go on the single rider line that I didn't even think about this part.

IMG_8793.jpg

I was so thrilled for them to ride this because the last time Dani and Nik were in Florida, Epcot was still pretty boring, haha.

IMG_6434.jpg

IMG_6436.jpg

IMG_6437.jpg

I liked this sign because it reminded me of a video I saw on YouTube a while ago that shows a momma duck with her ducklings walking in the wind. It was so crazy windy that some of the ducklings were tumbling all over the place!

IMG_8795.jpg

IMG_8796.jpg

I was saying to Howard, "Wouldn't it be creepy if this dummy kid all of a sudden picked up its head?" AGH, I just freaked myself out because I can still see it clearly happen in my head!

IMG_6438.jpg

And just like almost every update I write ... um, have you read Kingdom Keepers???

IMG_8797.jpg

Look at this one! He looks like he's gonna lead the pack.

IMG_8798.jpg

When we were told to wait in the area before getting in the room, there was a family that tried slipping into the single rider room. They just quickly went in without permission because the door was open. The daughter was like, “No! You can’t do that! I’m not going to do that!” Haha, I liked her because she wanted to just follow the rules! She did eventually go in the room because the family was not coming out. I don’t know what happened, but they all eventually came out. Just follow rules, people. It’d make the world a better place.

Here's a pic from inside the room.

IMG_8800.jpg

(continued in next post)

(continued from previous post)

Once we left that room, I took a picture of the fuzzy friend on Ray's backpack.

IMG_8801.jpg

I like these pictures because it's like, you KNOW you're at Test Track!

IMG_6442.jpg

IMG_8802.jpg

This one ... well, not so much. Haha, it is from Test Track though!

IMG_8803.jpg

We got to the loading area and since we were 5, we got a single rider. It was strange because the CM had the single rider get there first before us, so I sat in the middle of the back row instead of all the way to the left. I was hoping to get the left seat because I wanted to try to get a picture of the ice cube tray in the cold room again. Oh well.

I was more excited than my normal rides (and I love Test Track as it is!) because I knew they'd be experiencing it for the first time. The 3 of them sat in the front to get the full effect.

IMG_8805.jpg

IMG_8806.jpg

This is right before the barrier test!

IMG_6447.jpg

I did film the ride though because I think it’s fun to record their reactions! And as you can see in the video, I was creeped out by the hot and cold room because of Kingdom Keepers 3 again! Ahhh, I don’t want to spoil the whole scene, but it makes sense for Maleficent to be in the cold room since she always needs to be in a cold area! Scary!

For those of you who know the ride well, you might be able to tell that the timing was off. When we get to the part where they say "increasing speed" (and Nik gets all excited about it, haha), we actually slow down for a bit. The truck part was off because we were farther back. oh well! I guess that's what happens when the ride is down for a bit.

At the end of the ride!

IMG_6449.jpg

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of riding Test Track! I could ride it every single day, and it’s still so thrilling! Sitting in the back is always different though because I feel like I’m pushed down into the seat a bit more during the banked turn. But regardless of where I sit or what time of day it is, I still think it's the best "thrill" ride on Disney property for me!

Every time I go on Soarin' now I think of you at the end when the seat belts unlock

That Beverly video is so funny when they have basically no reaction to it at all! They would be good people to set up others and be like "see? Beverly is fine!" and then have someone unexpectedly try it! :rotfl:

Haha, nice!

When Howard tried it the year before, he knew that it was supposed to be gross as I told him about it before. But when he was trying it, I told him to gulp it! HAHA. I love him because he listened and did it!
