Deleting a post

How do you delete a post? I have tried to delete a double post but I cannot figure it out.

I don't think you can. You can delete the text from it using the edit feature, but I think it just sticks around leaving us to awkwardly post "Ooops! Double Post" occasionally

You mean you don't see a Delete option when you click the Edit tab below? Or what about if you click Go Advanced? I didn't think that only the mods were able to delete posts, but maybe that's the case because I can delete mine if I go into Edit.

No, Sherry, I don't think we have that feature, not even under "Go Advanced". I'm not sure if it's a MOD thing or maybe you have to have a certain number of posts (a very high number) before you can delete things?

There is no Delete option for me. I will just change the wording.

Wow - you learn something new every day! I had no idea that people cannot delete their own posts (like if they change their minds about them or something). I mean, I can see where we mods can go in and delete threads and single posts (it's located in a different area of the screen) and things like that, but for some reason I assumed everyone had the ability to remove their own posts when they clicked Edit or Go Advanced. I guess not! It's good to know.

That's what I like about Facebook! You can go in and delete whatever you want on your FB page!

Some people report their own double post by clicking on the icon in lower left of the post

and then one of us can delete the post.

If I see a double post I sometimes delete it just to clean up the thread.

I will do the same thing - if I happen to stumble upon an obvious double post (or triple post!), I will delete it.

Ohh see what mary jo said., I didn’t know we could do that! I would just delete my 2nd post and put dots or something.... ok good to know. I am glad that mary jo informed us of that info!
