You can buy these at selected Disney hotels - about $12 each.

You can refill them at your hotel all day long for free with either hot or cold drinks; coke, lemonade, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, etc. and various other flavoured soft drinks.

You can only fill them at the hotels (you can also wash them out before filling them if necessary) but as they have a resealable lid (with straw holes- so bring some straws for little kids) we also used to fill them before we went to the Parks and took them with us.

They are available at Disney Port Orleans but have also read that they are available at other Disney sites too. Well worth the money in our view.

:)

We stayed at All Star Movies and bought one when we arrived. Soon got in to the habit of filling it up on the way to the bus when we were going out. We probably got our value in drinks we would have purchased and they came in handy when we bought bottles of drinks from the supermarkets for filling up with ice as we had no fridge in the room in the room during our second week off site.

The parks all sell souvenier mugs which you cost in the region of 5 or 6 dollars. The refills for these then cost you a dollar less than buying a drink so depending how many drinks you buy during the day can be useful to buy, until you need to find room to pack them all coming home lol

We got POR mugs on our last stay there - well worth the money. The food court at POR is great :)

They had two styles when we where there - a short squat style and a taller style (I think this style fits car drinks holders).

These are insulated plastic cups with lids on that can be bought at the disney hotels. Each hotel has its' own design. The idea is you pay $12.99 ( I think) and then you can use it to get refills for the duration of your stay at that hotel.

It isn not meant to be used at other hotels, and it is not meant to be used for subsequent visists. The designs do change, but like all things, it is a system that is abused by some people.

The drink refills are from the drinks station and include soft drinks as well as tea. coffee and hot chocolate.

years ago when you bought a mug it was valid for refills at that hotel for a lifetime now its changed to the length of stay but if you buy a mug at an all star resort it is valid for all 3 movies, sports and music .But at the values you will see a lot of pople filling anything up from blizzard beach to 7/11 32oz cups .they do put the year of issue on them now that started about 5 years ago we have a mug from every hotel we have stayed at disney and thats a lot but we prefer to buy cans of pop as the stuff you get from the dispencers veries in taste sometimes

We were at All Stars in 2000 and saved the mugs because we thought we could use them on our next trip. We are going this December 2005 and I checked about refillable mugs on this website and saw they are only good for the visit when you purchased them. I couldn't figure out why we thought to keep them unless we thought they were good for life. Now I see your reply which probably explains it.

So, if it does not have the year of issue, does that mean it is good for life? I can see the rules changing but I can't see them changing them for people who bought them under the promise of free refills for life.

I checked the ones we bought a couple of weeks and can't find any date on them.

The resort mugs these days are only valid for LOS (Length of Stay) only.

From time to time the design changes so that the age can be determined.

I've not seen any "mug police" apart from people "tut-tutting" whilst in line.

They change the colour and I think they change the design as well. The one I bought last year is different to the one I bought a few years ago. Admittedly it was ASP, but I saw people coming over from ASP and it was different to the one I bought back then. Throughout the holiday I saw the colour change. What colour are yours you have now we have a purple lid one and a red lid one. This may give you some ideas.

I was only going to buy 3 refillable mugs and take the two we bought last year for our twin boys, as they wont drink as much. DH said it was cheeky and they probably would of changed the design. So I dont know if we will or not pends on what everyone else thinks or tends to do?

Michelle

I think it would have to be very petty for people to make a few free drinks a real issue. The cost to Disney is probably so miniscule it's not worth bothering about.

I suppose it's really down to peoples conscience as to wether they think they are doing the right thing.
