Since I just started I am doing what they tell me to do. Maybe when I am more involved in the program I will do my own, but want to play it safe in the beginning!

Thank you so much that's what I needed to do! I had just been selecting my own work out, thinking it would register it. Today I went into the Fitness Program part like you said and clicked on it and got my workout that way...thanks!!:thumbsup2

Do you need the Wii scale for this? Here is the reason why I am asking: my DH purchased Wii Fit for me last year and we planned to use it together. Big problem though - he is 6'6 and almost 300 pounds. because of his weight the game instucted him to "see a physician" and would not let him play. While he is definitely overweight, he exercises at our Y 3 - 4 times a week for over an hour so at a pretty good speed at intense incline on the treadmill (4.0 at 6.0 incline) ...anyway, he was not a happy camper. He spent a week calling himself "the fat guy". I'd like to know the answer to the question because I don't want to set him up for another round of that! Thanks

Poor guy! That wii balance board can be brutal - it usually says "oh my!" when I get on!

Anyway - NO you don't need the balance board for this game. I recommend the game, it's great! Everything I've done can be done on the floor, the board just makes sure you are picking up your feet etc.

Good luck!

Really? I'm surprised by that. My dh is 6' and very close to 300 and he uses our WiiFit with no problems

With our luck, DH was probably that millimeter of an ounce over whatever limit was allowed!! Glad that it worked out for you, though!

so I got the game for Christmas and I love it! I love how you can customize your own workouts. Enjoying it so far!

I've had this game on my Amazon Wish List for awhile. I just noticed that its on sale today for only $20.99. I think its time to take the plunge and buy it! :)

I like the game but I don't like how you are on the board and off the board all the time. I need shoes on when I jump and run and that kind of thing so my calves are killing me. Do you notice this after doing the jumping jacks and stuff without shoes? How can I fix this problem since you can't wear shoes on the board?

Tina - great price!!

Shorty - I wear my shoes on the board all the time, I didn't know you weren't supposed but probably would have anyway, I get bad pains if I don't wear shoes. I wear them for everything, the wii fit, bl and all the games and haven't had any problems. So for what it's worth... ;)

Good to know-I was wondering the same thing.

Also, I chose the beginner, 4-week program. How do I know which days are work-out days? Do I check everyday? Or do I chose my own routine as I see fit. TIA!

cc - lol I had the same questions! Here's what I do - go into Fitness Program when you start, then click on the calendar. A nutrition challenge pops up, like eat 2 vegetables today or something, do you accept? I also click okay. Then I have access to the training for the day. You can see on the calendar if the training is for the day. It's a little awkward and I'm not sure if there's an easier way. Heading up to do it right now! Oh - and yesterday was the end of my first week and I had a challenge to do,and then there was an elimination. Fortunately I was above the yellow line! Poor Bernie got eliminated.

Ok, I'll just wear my shoes when I do it then. I don't feel I need them for Wii Fit Plus because I don't do as much aerobic exercise where I'm jumping around and all.

Thanks jennz! I will try it tomorrow. Already got my workout in today.

I forgot to ask, did you notice how far off the calorie counter is for the calories you've burned? Mine is way off. The Wii Fit Plus is right on with my heart rate monitor.

Of course, I just bought it at Walmart for $40 last night. Oh well. At least I used a gift card and I can get started right away.

I did my first workout this morning and it was tough. I HATE jumping jacks.

Lynsey the calories on BL as in they are too low or too high? Please don't tell me they're too high - it seems like I'm doing a lot of work for 30 calories! :rotfl:

peace.love.mickey - I've read on here and on the bodybugg site that people think the BL is the best wii workout, mostly because of the 4 levels of intensity and variety. People really really like the EA active (I think that's what it's called) too. I am on beginner level and it is a workout for me! I like the way they mix it up.

Way low. I think it said like 82 calories for me after 40 minutes the other day and my heart rate monitor said 347. So I wore it while I did a few things on Wii Fit Plus and it was 1 calorie lower than my hrm each time. Much better. I'll just be sure to wear my hrm everytime I do BL Wii. No biggie.

Oh, and I bought it last week at Target for $19.99. I'm sure it will be on sale again soon.
