One piece of advice that CM gave me was to be flexible with your sailing date and suggested putting down alternate sailing dates just in case your first choice was taken. I have done the "fax request" three times now and only one time out of the three did I get the date I really wanted. The other two cruises didn't matter as we were flexible. However, since you are faxing your request three years in advance I would think you'd get what you want. HTH
During our September, 2004 cruise, we had Donna, the Magic's rebooking agent, fax our suite request to DCL. She warned us that guests often don't get their first (or even second) choices. She urged us to request three possible dates, ranked in our desired order, as well as three room categories, again ranked. Our first choice was a Cat 3 for March 18, 2006. We got a Cat 3 for March 18, 2006!
Obviously, it worked well for us! Surely, with three years to go, it will work for you, too!
Yes, I would send a "revised" fax since you specifically requested the week of October 14 in your first fax and now you say you'll take "any" week in October. HTH
