Last week, I slammed my knee into our table and expected to see a huge bruise. Well, it didn't come for three or four days, then was ugly!

This morning, I noticed that the places where I had IV needles in my hands are all bruised. I got those needles on Wednesday and they are just showing up today.

Is this normal? Is it a sign I'm getting dehydrated again?

Sometimes if the bruising is really deep it takes a few days for it to come to the surface and become visible.

Whenever I've had IV needles, I haven't shown a bruise for a few days afterward. I know when I had my wisdom teeth out, bruises didn't show on my cheeks until about a week later.

Not sure what it is about IV needles, but for the other stuff, I'd be inclined to agree with phamton.
